Dak struggled last week with very little help but tonight he outplayed Herbert!

Dak didn't look good. Got sacked when it wasn't needed. Overthrew WR's all night. Was terrible at executing the tush push. Consistently threw short of the first down marker. It was painful to watch him run the offense.
What I didn’t understand is why didn’t they attack the middle of the field. Is that coaching or Dak? I agree it was painful to watch. It seemed like everything we did was harder than it needed to be. I’m having a hard time figuring out if Dak is the problem or coaching or both.

Things I think Dak did well:
Made plays with his legs and salvaged some plays. Didn’t turn it over. Scored in the red zone. Did all that with bad play from offensive line.

Things I think Dak did poorly:
Held onto the hall and took too many sacks. Missed open receivers, forced it to Gallup too much.

I’m not a big Dak fan but tonight he helped us win and I’m happy about that. I’m still concerned about the things he’s not doing well and concerned about the whole offense as a unit. Hopefully we get it figured out during the bye week.

Dallas has a top D.
LA has a bottom D.

That things were comparable at all indicates the guy playing the good D was better.
Just not in the stat sheet, in the clutch or in the final score.

Remove all those things and Herbert was WAY better!!!

There are a lot of selective memories and flawed perceptions on this forum. I wish there was a rule that you couldn't complain about the team until 24 hours after a victory. Every win needs to be enjoyed and celebrated for at least a day before we are informed just how undeserving it was.

Dak and the Cowboys played well against a team that had two weeks to prepare for them.

We had a flag happy group of referees, both teams were penalized excessively.

The starting offensive line has now been intact for two games. They will improve with each game and should be at their most efficient when playoffs come around.

I don't care which individual player did what, when and how much. The Cowboys beat a pretty good team on the road just before their bye week.
Amen.

You can't have it both ways.

If you're happy with Dak's ball security, you can't be upset that he took some sacks when the OL didn't do their part.

If nobody's open and there's pressure, and he throws it up for grabs and it gets picked off, then you're complaining about the "boneheaded INT".

Taking a sack is a much better play than turning the ball over.

Dak was under siege all night and had zero run game. Despite that, he didn't even come close to a turnover.

Herbert, on the other hand, threw an INT and had 2 other INTs dropped (both by DaRon Bland). And notice how Herbert didn't take as many sacks as Dak? Not a total coincidence.

He needs to learn to throw the ball away. I for one would never try the QB push with him ever again. Find a fullback for short yardage plays. Dak only succeeded on broken plays as the line is average and we have one receiver who can get open.

Are sacks a “team stat”?

Your comment clearly lays all of the sacks that Dallas gave up at Dak’s feet as if having d-linemen in your face just happens by magic.

Go back and watch. Our offensive line had perhaps its worst game of the year. Tyler was especially bad.
They are an individual stat and a team stat (in that they keep track of how many the team gets as a whole).

I didn't say solely at Dak's feet. It's just true though that he has slow feet and poor presence, and isn't great with slight movements to avoid pressure and keep his eyes down field. And if I never see him refuse to throw the ball away while outside the pocket so he can take a sack instead, it will be too soon.

Herbert is just better in those areas.

This play tonight from Dak simply isn't good enough to go beyond wild card weekend. Don't see any changes from last year other than a worse offensive line and the loss of our 10 million per year blocking back.

Disagree. Herbert was harassed a ton, but moved enough to escape. His bad misses were due to pressure.

Dak was a mixed bag. Missed some wide open huge plays, and was at time a dear in headlights in the pocket. Other times he made good plays to extend things.

Herbert was playing against a much better defense.
Pressure?

He’s MUCH better than Dak at throwing game ending int’s in 1 score games too!! You conveniently forgot that one. LOL

Both offensive lines struggled. Neither team could run, both QBs were pressured often, but Dak made more plays than Herbert.

I've had issues with Dak but credit where due tonight.
Dallas hasn’t run the ball effectively all year.
