Dak to Tolbert: "Show you can be a No.1 receiver"

It's my understanding he's having his best camp.

This may be a bit much but OK (lol)

Ah, first blush of training camp, where bodies seem fresh and optimism is higher than even Rowdy's.

He’s not going to be asked to be the #1.
100%.......I'm not sure why fans are twisting this. All Dak advises him to do is elevate his game to be the best wide receiver he can be. This kid has spent a lot of off-season time with Dak since his rookie season. Looks like it's finally paying off.

There’s a bunch here who won’t give Dak credit for anything. Imagine criticizing a veteran for trying to motivate one of his receivers to be the best he can be. SMDH.

Tolbert hasn’t even proven he can be a solid number three.

Jerry and Stephen have robbed some of our posters/fans of their patience for young players. (LOL)
I think the hardest part of being a Cowboys fan from the draft and camp point of view is the past years have not shown up that all the interest in the players invested by fans has resulted in the outcomes we are looking for - playoff success and a SuperBowl.

So there are probably a lot of fans who wonder if anything that goes on in the draft or camp actually matters.

Legit 5 WRs? Based on some camp videos against other 4th-7th CBs?

What is the current career numbers of all guys after Cooks?

They’re all UFAs or make it or break it 3rd round picks.
Yes 5. Career numbers don't mean anything. It doesn't matter if they are UFA's or 3rd round picks. You are hung up too much on proven guys....which we have already.

Lamb, Cooks, Turpin and Tolbert all contributed last year. That's 4 and Brooks is ready so that makes 5. Like I said earlier, there are a couple good ones behind them who will probably force the Cowboys to go 6 deep this year.

I guess that's why he was starting at the end of the season.
He was credited with six starts last season. Just because he had a start against Washington in week 17 doesn’t mean he’s solid. He only caught 22 passes for less than 300 yards. He’s far from a solid number three but once you get past CeeDee and Cooks we didn’t have much at WR. We’ll see how the WRs shape out this season.

i think we need to see this in a game. RIGHT NOW its just typical camp fodder. i want to see it when the lights are on and games on the line if they have the same chemistry and Tolbert can make the clutch play.

LOL......doesn't it start in practice?

Just wait, he will be and maybe WR2 at some point.
He’s being given every opportunity. He was our third round pick a couple of years ago. This will be a big season for him to step up. I haven’t been very impressed with him, but I’m pulling for him.

I'll put his catch total over/under at 36... and barring injury to another WR, I take the under all day every day.

What say you?
