They both had teams with defenses that couldn't stop the run and offensive coaches that wouldn't commit to it.
Jerry's been lucky with having these two simultaneously I'm not sure if we'll be as fortunate the 3rd time.

We could have Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers and not get it done. Green Bay may be the easier example. The year it won a Super Bowl with Rodgers, it had the No. 2 scoring defense in the league and also was No. 2 in interceptions and No. 5 in yards allowed. I believe there were plenty of years when New England had the No. 1 defense, and Tampa Bay's defense did the heavy lifting in Brady's Super Bowl year there.

And much more fun to watch. I never really felt like we were out of a game with Romo.
I am just bored with Dak. I don't know why that is because when he is on, he is really good.

Exactly what I always said. With Dak sometimes he can't even get a first down on a last drive, with Romo there was always a chance.

I think 15-19 191 yards is an extremely deceiving way to get to a 148 passer rating, but if you wanna praise Romo for a small offensive contribution while we go home and watch Rodgers play in another championship game....,go ahead and shoeshine his 148 passer rating.

You can't BLAME Romo for that game, but I think that game kinda proves who Romo has been his whole career. Whenever he plays a superior QB, he can't outduel him. Who would you bet for Romo against Brady/Rodgers/Favre. For me, it's Brady/Rodgers/Favre every time.

I mean I guess you could blame Romo for a great running game where we did not need to put the ball in the air or for the 10.1 avg per attempt- you could also blame him for the pass to Dez for what 40 yards that got called a drop which was a huge big time play by him......The fact of the matter is that The Demarco fumble and the Dez "drop" were the causes for that loss. Nothing else Romo could have done in that game

see I can like Romo and Prescott and Aikman and Staubach and see they all were great, but you can't see it you can't separate team failures from the quarterback, and we get it super casuals they don't understand football, so they blame the quarterback because he makes the most money and they're upset because it's not their favorite.

This is not a popularity contest, literally the stats show he's so far from average you're in the wrong zip code..

and some argue why are we falling behind? so that to have to scramble and come back...

everything is just a spin. at the end of the day, they both had similar playoff records and failed to advance the team. people tend to fall in love with certain stats to justify their emotions towards a player

I mean literally so far from above average are you kidding me there's 32 teams in the league both these players have been in the top five more than once in their careers and just recently Prescott was second MVP voting and should have been the MVP second team all pro led the league in scoring like I don't understand what you mean got lucky with the average?

no both were franchise quarterbacks, top ten in the league at worst and that's so far above the 16 line that would be called average.. these guys are both franchise quarterbacks..

they are very difficult to find and you want to call it luck, Tom Brady in the sixth round, Brock Purdy in the seventh round, you want to talk about luck the San Francisco 49ers couldn't have been more lucky after they made a huge mistake trading three first rounders for Trey Lance and ended up with Brock Purdy last player taken in the draft.. you don't call that luck and by the way they haven't won a Super Bowl in a long time, and I know they're better than us as far as championship game appearances but let's be real lots of teams get lucky with players and sometimes you need some luck...

I'm sick and tired of hearing the word average the team's 32 that would be 16 would be the average point and none of these quarterbacks ever at any point even as rookies it was rookie of the year that that's not average that's not above average above average would be like 12 these guys have been in the top ten their entire careers and have had many seasons at least three in the top five and in the MVP talk that is not above average....

Why don't you check at the bottom 20 quarterbacks in the league and let me know what average really looks like because I can tell you what it looks like even a guy like Geno Smith can be called slightly above average what Aaron Rodgers did last year people thought was bad no that's above average that's slightly average to above average now he used to be elite but those are what average looking quarterbacks look like not the ones who have 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions 35 touchdowns and 9 interceptions and getting the MVP voting just recently and been part of number one offense is more than I can remember... You might wanna check statistics Prescott is also in the top 6 where he was in the maybe top 10 now and touchdown interception ratio I mean did you see those stats up there that's all time not just with the Cowboys the man has so many top 10 statistics against his own peers in the league let alone how he ranks all time with the Cowboys,

that's not average I get it we need to go further in the playoffs but please don't call it luck and don't call it average..

We know what average means and Dak is below avg performance in playoffs games.
This is why we discount the 50 point victories over crappy teams and the 2 td performances when he's down by 21 in the 4th quarter and the other team plays prevent. Dak has a ceiling and it's called having a nice season. Look at what Jayden Daniels did! Thier defense was crap too. That's what pedigree can bring you. Dallas hasn't had pedigree since Aikman. Throw Brady out of the equation because thats an anomaly.

stuck with JG as OC the whole time except for 2014, and he had a great year,but
JG manged to blow the GB game with game mgmt.

jg managed to screw up a lot. including the playoff game against GB at home when we tied the game. should have never fell behind by 20 points and he didn't have his team or players ready.

but that's what you get when you go for middle of the road coaches and insist on keeping them to the end of their contracts...there is coaches dead money you know!!!

You say that though but how about this perspective you know how many games Aikman had like that? I mean the dude wasn't counted on to be doing all the work at quarterback, had ES22 and a great OL , great team... There's a lot of people that say he's overrated because he had a lot of numbers like that.. He had so many games that were around 200 yards kind of the same thing that's being said about jalen hurts and he had a lot of games like that he wasn't dependent on this year as much even though he may be capable of having a great passing game every now and again it's the team it's the way the defense plays the run game and the coaching Staffs that win these games the quarterback shouldn't have to do much more than that long as you don't make the big mistake at the wrong time...

neither was Roger you look at those run games the offensive line the defensive line the coaching Staffs, how great those teams were!!​

the quarterbacks never had to put up 300 yards and four touchdowns in order to win, that's what they've been asking Romo and Prescott to do more than most quarterbacks, literally not enough talent when it really is necessary, they don't show up..​

what truly eye popping stat for me, is go look at all the losses in the playoffs especially with Prescott, and you'll find the run game is the saddest thing I've ever seen, and then you add in the penalties with the offensive line, you add the fact that defense doesn't show up enough, the coaching staff is just not up to playing chess with the other side..

they're usually out coached I mean this is what the real perspective is on why we haven't been successful in the playoffs look at the offensive line look at the trenches but look at the run game I bet it's under 3 yards per carry and there's just nothing there from that spot when it counts the most... I mean just take a look at the losses I don't feel like researching right now maybe later but I bet the last five playoff losses you're going to see a really sad offensive line production especially when it comes to the run game...

So, in my opinion, both these quarterbacks are being harshly judged because of what fans forget when they're judging aikman and Roger, is that aikman and Roger never were asked to carry the team and almost always had rosters around them to get it done and they showed up in the big games... In my opinion both these guys are Detroit Lions Matthew Stafford verses where aikman and roger were matthew stafford rams.

When you actually use common sense and you look at it with real perspective with your eyes wide open you'd realize that it's the teams around them that are falling short in the big moments that are creating this problem even Matthew Stafford Rams 2.0 version of himself he led the league in interceptions and had two interceptions in the Super bowl and it didn't matter they still won that's what team play is all about don't blame the quarterback how about look at the whole team.

Romo never had a defense. Still, I didn’t think he was elite, but he was better than Dak in my opinion.
