Dak vs Romo: Just the Facts

well, he was 2-4 in playoffs... nothing to write home about.... he got into playoffs 4 years, Dak 5 years. both have only 2 wins in playoffs.

neither did anything spactacular. not sure why Romo maniacs defend him like they do.
Exactly. Dakota Prescott and Antonio Ramiro are the same QB under pressure in big games. A mistake waiting to happen.

Romo didn't throw very many interceptions but just had the absolute uncanny ability of being able to throw one when it was impossible to overcome.

As a result the ones he threw became very memorable.

Now one can see that the Cowboys did suffer in free agency last year by not getting extensions done early.

There now are resources that have come to use. Injuries were the robber Barron, not players to get real handles on a large group of good players and talent.

lol

You can't even interpret the point my very straightforward post made. Or maybe you just consciously choose to gaslight with your attempt at revisionist history.

The point was that the very same excuses you guys, (and no, you don't get to ignore all the historical context and exclude yourself from the Dak Defender club) have undeniably used to defend Dak's playoff failures are not extended to Romo when they undeniably are equally as relevant.

I especially love how you oh so cluelessly double down with that gibberish about "maybe if we scored more..." but somehow are able to miss the giant, flashing, firework spewing billboard of hypocrisy that is attached to that statement.

That's the problem with living and dying on your ego alone. It can lead to irrational and emotional thinking that leaves you looking silly, at best.

I should state for the record, so your emotions don't lead you to an incorrect assumption, I am not defending or attacking either QB here. I'm just pointing out how irrational and emotional some of you are.
What you guys? Are you one of those who will call anyone a Dak supporter because in every comment anyone posts ever they don't just dump on him thus they are a supporter? Give you said you guys its obvious...

Neither gets an excuse. But go ahead pick Romos jocks since you are one of those guys

Here is how Dak and Romo were ranked for passer rating in their first 9 years:
Dak: 3rd, 17th, 14th, 10th, DNQ, 3rd, 16th, 2nd, 28th Average = 11.6
Romo: 5th, 5th, 8th, 8th, DNQ, 4th, 10th, 8th, 1st Average = 6.1

Versus his peers, Romo was simply a better passer than Dak. Romo never finished out of the top 10 in passer rating. Dak has finished outside of the top 10 in half of his seasons.
The only players with "better" yearly passer rankings than Romo (in his era) are first ballot HOFers.

You are not seriously suggesting that a QB known for bumbling around the pocket & getting sacked (even by his own linemen) is a better "escape artist" than a QB renowned for his escapes (spin move)? Might want to talk to JJ Watt.
You can't make this stuff up. It's unbelievable. If Disney had your imagination, know telling what he could of created.:lmao:
I was simply saying that, as another fan pointed out, that Dak has more rushing yards than Romo over the first 9 seasons. I agree w the Romo assessment that he was a Brett Favre wanna-be and was in reality Favre-Light.

You'll go to any length to avoid owning and taking responsibility for your statements. I responded to post #157 in which you blamed Romo for losing three "win and your in" games. I simply pointed out that in very similar circumstances where Dak was the QB, many, including you, gave Dak a pass because the defense failed. In other words, in all those situations the defense failed. but only Dak got the pass for it.

You seemed to have recently changed your tune a bit on Dak, presumably because the reality is impossible to ignore for all but the most delusional, so kudos for coming around on that, but prior you have been a vocal defender of Dak. You were one who hammered on the 260 yards rushing given up to the Rams being impossible to overcome yet crickets on the 270+ rushing the defense gave up in the Washington loss which Romo QB'd. You relentlessly lectured us on how it's a "team game" when Dak and the offense couldn't overcome a terrible showing by the defense, but crickets when the defense was terrible in some critical losses with Romo taking the snaps.

You have clearly expressed a double standard in the way you're evaluating these two QB's. That's my point. Nothing more, nothing less. No matter how hard you try to make it something more.

So why did you say "escape artist"?

If you wanna say he's got more running yards, fine, but that's not based on escapability.

Again here we go with "people like you" . Who are these people you keep referring to?

And I clearly criticized both...

And like I said both were crap. No excuses. Neither got it done. You sound like you want to excuse Romo because of what "some people" said about Dak. Your Romo defense is a Dak excuse!!!!!!

If you think Dak shouldn't get an excuse. Why are you defending Romo with the same Dak excuse. Makes zero sense.

Some of y'all need to really learn what average means..

I mean literally so far from above average are you kidding me there's 32 teams in the league both these players have been in the top five more than once in their careers and just recently Prescott was second MVP voting and should have been the MVP second team all pro led the league in scoring like I don't understand what you mean got lucky with the average?

no both were franchise quarterbacks, top ten in the league at worst and that's so far above the 16 line that would be called average.. these guys are both franchise quarterbacks..

they are very difficult to find and you want to call it luck, Tom Brady in the sixth round, Brock Purdy in the seventh round, you want to talk about luck the San Francisco 49ers couldn't have been more lucky after they made a huge mistake trading three first rounders for Trey Lance and ended up with Brock Purdy last player taken in the draft.. you don't call that luck and by the way they haven't won a Super Bowl in a long time, and I know they're better than us as far as championship game appearances but let's be real lots of teams get lucky with players and sometimes you need some luck...

I'm sick and tired of hearing the word average the team's 32 that would be 16 would be the average point and none of these quarterbacks ever at any point even as rookies it was rookie of the year that that's not average that's not above average above average would be like 12 these guys have been in the top ten their entire careers and have had many seasons at least three in the top five and in the MVP talk that is not above average....

Why don't you check at the bottom 20 quarterbacks in the league and let me know what average really looks like because I can tell you what it looks like even a guy like Geno Smith can be called slightly above average what Aaron Rodgers did last year people thought was bad no that's above average that's slightly average to above average now he used to be elite but those are what average looking quarterbacks look like not the ones who have 37 touchdowns and 10 interceptions 35 touchdowns and 9 interceptions and getting the MVP voting just recently and been part of number one offense is more than I can remember... You might wanna check statistics Prescott is also in the top 6 where he was in the maybe top 10 now and touchdown interception ratio I mean did you see those stats up there that's all time not just with the Cowboys the man has so many top 10 statistics against his own peers in the league let alone how he ranks all time with the Cowboys,

that's not average I get it we need to go further in the playoffs but please don't call it luck and don't call it average..

a huge appointment in team play in the playoffs and big games, yes...
Average, better than average in nfc least and can't change that to looking at the three seasons bc they have sucked all along in big games. Stats tell us garbage time and dont say dak sucked three quarters and started to pass when prebentbstsrted. Go watch all22 and it will make you sick. Also they both suck and failed to pitbteam first with large contracts that put money on one side of the ball
