I agree you can't pay a facilitator at QB $35 million. Completely agree. But I think the Cowboys have to be anticipating that Dak continues making strides toward becoming a prolific passer.
Some here will obviously scoff at that notion, but I was honestly surprised by the strides he made last year. He sliced and diced poor teams apart, which we hadn't really seen in years past. Can he take that next jump and bring that same level of play against superior teams and defenses?
If you're paying him $35 million, you're banking that he can. If he doesn't, then we will have whiffed on the contract.
I scoff at that notion for sure..
Our best bet is McCarthy having such an impact that we just start out scheming our opponents like the 49ers do.
My worry about that is McCarthy was fired for basically the same thing Garrett was.. He became stale and my only hope in him not being a stubborn old football coach is some piece where he throws around words like analytics in hopes to recreate him image.
McCarthy was a underachiever with the QBs he had in GB and he will not get that type of QB play here in Dallas.
On top of that I am worried that Kellen Moore was forced on him because it makes absolutely no sense for him to not take on playcalling duties especially since he said he would never give that up again.
I do not like this current teams build and the only hope I see for Super Bowl success is McCarthy being really good.
I personally would go all in for Tua if I ran the team.
