Dak wasn't that good last night **merged**

Think it comes down to Dak leading off the Cowboys in a strong season that had them playoff bound and they wanted Romo to take over in what they considered to be the most talented or one of the best teams the Cowboys recently had. Romo didn't so some resent Dak for that. They wanted for Romo to have a chance at finishing what Dak started that season. Then expected Dak to go back to being back up QB (as well as expecting the team just to embrace Romo has their QB again and not lose any steam with the chemistry change replacing Dak might have caused)
You are correct. But why can’t these sentimental simpletons understand what you just elaborated on?

No, I get it. Your one of these laughable clowns that thinks we should be starting Cooper Rush?

Or wait...……….you think we are going to the SB this year right? LOL

If only we had Tom Brady!!!!! LOL
Another poster moving like a little child making up stuff you can't even find posted by me. Where is the post of me saying they should start Cooper Rush this season? You like your little groupie friend Keyser like making up bs narratives. I don't know if we are going to the Super Bowl or not because the season hasn't been played but you don't know either so whats your point? You people need to stop with the bogus strawmen talking points. If we had Brady we probably would be better but that isn't saying much so again whats your point?

Okay, I'm open to your plan. How do you plan to get one of the top two draft picks next year? Or what quarterback is available that is a guaranteed better quarterback than Dak? As you said yourself, trade for a back up you THINK can be a starter. What if you think wrong?

Just saying either way you go, there's a risk. To me it comes down to not making a decision based on 2 years of playing time for Dak, playing musical quarterbacks every two years doesn't seem like a recipe for success. Cowboys picked up Cassell, Weeden, etc. What gives you confidence that Jerry, et al will make a good selection?

I've seen enough of Dak to believe he can be good enough for this team, IF Zeke stays healthy, the line gels and the defense continues to improve. Obviously you don't think so, and that's fine, you're entitled to your opinion. But then so is CowboyRoy, and myself. I'll be the first to say I was wrong if Dak never gets much better. But wanting to stick with a guy who led a team to a 13-3 record for ONE more year doesn't make them a coward...
Y'all ask very curse out worthy questions. Who said I plan to get one of the top two draft picks? Smh. My post is in response to someone who acts like they are oblivious to how you normally get a franchise QB. If you weren't so pressed to ask silly questions you'd get that.

As far as risk who said or implied it wasn't risk? We aren't invested financially enough in Dak to be worried about musical chairs if he isn't that good. Again you have to stop asking questions I didn't even mention or imply regarding my trust in Jerry and them to get it right. If you want to argue against yourself go ahead but don't quote me while you're doing it.

If you think he is the one cool I think he trending towards rg3 great first year then not so good afterwards. If he plays better great but while his isn't a big burden on the cap a year this year more like last year I'd be looking for another QB. You wouldn't that's ok too. Who said he wasn't entitled to his opinion? You really that hype off of the phrase football coward? I put football coward to even let the guy know I'm just talking about this decision not personally. You hanging on to old glory days of Dak on the al bundy 6 td game in HS. Dak isn't the 2016 QB anymore and if he was we don't have all these threads about him.

What's up with all the name calling? Can't you just have a civil debate?

Seems like almost every thread you're in turns to total ****.

P.S. Lose the Superman T-Shirt in your avatar. All it does is make me want to...

Wait a minute tho. Romo had some Pro Bowlers on his Oline too. Davis, Gurode, Flozell, etc. Dak does not have all the luxuries many people claim he has.
Pro bowls for Oline is pretty worthless, like when Jeff Saturday was voted in while he was benched. Of the olineman back then the only one that was worthy of a pro bowl nod was flozell and he was quite old.

ah, so you don't know about the season because it hasn't played out, but Dak's career has already played out and you know about that right?

2 things:

1. We are definitely NOT going to the SB this year
2. Dak has a long way to go as QB

Dak is what people thought he would be in many ways, but they undervalued his intangibles and leadership skills. They also couldn't predict that he'd land on a team that was built to win now and chalk full of Pro Bowlers and All-Pros (many blocking for or taking hand-offs from him).

Chalk (you mean chock) full of Pro Bowlers? There were only 4 elected from the Cowboys, I'd hardly call that "chock full"...

I put football coward to even let the guy know I'm just talking about this decision not personally.

You said: "Basically you're scarred to be without Dak because you don't know the future good or bad? Thanks for being a football coward."

If you preface the coward comment with "you're" and "you", it appears clearly to be commenting about the person, not the decision.

But we'll accept your explanation on it, next time it would help if you would say you're talking about the decision, not the person, it's too easily interpreted as a personal attack...

I don't like Doc much. too much of a homer and he hates the cowboys. Mitch is OK. I know Kevin and Cooley left. Kevin was a homer but he was logical. Cooley was good, a bit of a homer obviously, but did good analysis and breakdown of players. He was the one that called out Beasley's simple route running last year and that he can easily be neutralized by where he lines up to tip off the defense on what route he runs.

I like Doc even though He's a homer, which is expected he played for them and got a ring. he's also old school. He reminds me of John Thompson who was great on 980.

With or without Dak, there is nothing in this current regimes pedigree, that would indicate things will be better with a top flight quarterback. People keep assuming a highly drafted quarterback, is going to fix Dallas. I don’t think so, and no I’m not a hater of the head coach. But as many have stated over and over, he’s average to below average at best. No I haven’t forgotten ownership either, but you’re not getting rid of them.

Yes, as is often the case, quarterbacks get too much blame or too much credit.

It's always bothered me that on "Hail Mary" passes, you seldom hear who caught the pass, only which quarterback threw it. Doug Flutie is well known for his Hail Mary throw, but quick now, who caught the pass? But all the quarterback does is throw the ball to a general area in the end zone (usually) with a crowd of 4-6-8 receivers and defenders, it's up to the receiver to judge the ball's flight, get in position, jump at the proper time, watch for deflected balls, etc. But if it's successful it's always "Aaron Rodgers threw a Hail Mary and won the game".

Watching the game last night, Tyrod Taylor was brought in to win games for Cleveland until Mayfield was ready to play, but how did he do? 4 of 14 for 19 yards, against the JETS.

So those who think if the Cowboys could JUST GET A BETTER QUARTERBACK THAN DAK, it'd be all sunshine and roses, just be careful what you wish for...

Pro bowls for Oline is pretty worthless, like when Jeff Saturday was voted in while he was benched. Of the olineman back then the only one that was worthy of a pro bowl nod was flozell and he was quite old.
Wow!!! No offensive line pro bowlers are worthless? Ok. So why is it such a topic in reference to Dak’s team? I find this bs line of thinking very hypocritical. You guys will say anything to berate Dak and uplift Romo. This is crazy.

Civil debate? Look at all the names being tossed around at those who choose to support OUR QUARTERBACK. It’s odd how you and those who think like you only see what those in defense do. You never notice the bs your comrades do. So do us all a favor and ignore what you don’t like. Because your opinion doesn’t matter. This is just entertainment and football discussions. I have a real life with real circumstances. This **** ain’t serious to me.
