The first words out of Purdy's agent will be, "If Pescott is worth 60 million, we want at least 65 Million minimal."

Purdy will not sign for more than $45 million AAV. He can be tagged for a more than reasonable amount. The specter of being tagged will encourage him to get a contract done asap for what he can. Dak’s contract is going to stand as the largest for awhile.

Would you like to wager on that?

Why wouldn't his agent go to them this off-season & say "He's clearly outplaying his contract. You need to step up & put him under a starter's contract or risk losing him."?

Why would SF have any options that aren't available to any other team in the league? Every other team in the league pays anyone they think might be a solid QB. Now they don't have to be complete morons like the Cowboys but he will get well north of 45M if they sign him.

Honestly, his is an easy situation for me. They have already gotten 3? years of starter play for bargain basement pay. I work with the guy to get him some money now to keep him happy. I'm still not paying full market value & I get the additional time to evaluate him.

My thoughts in this post were Dak had a setback, and somehow like he did last year he had a great returning year, and the fans who didn't like him in 2024 will see him pad the stat board up and will fall deeply in love!
