Dak's bad foot work

We wish his only problem to be "Fixed" is his footwork....let's see how many flaws Dak has....

Poor Footwork
Poor Accuracy
Poor Anticipation
Poor Downfield vision
Poor Decision making
Poor Patience in the Pocket( Panic Attack Dak)
Poor Leadership ( Throwing Dez under the bus)
Poor Ball handling (Mr. Fumble)

Now don't we all wish Dak was a Car we could just fix...well he's not and NO coach can correct this inept QB.
Gl Dak zoinds I respect your support system for this inept QB but I simply don't understand it..... as a Cowboy fan.....
They have gurus that can fix all these problems. "If you don't like his problems, you can find another team."

Dak needs all the help he can get and Jerry surrounds him with an unqualified QB coach and an undrafted 2nd year backup.

The Kellen Moore promotion showed how unserious management is. There is no way they could have possibly sat around a table and said "Kellen is obviously the most qualified QB coach we can find".

Steve Young used to talk about footwork being everything. Each step back represented a different route to throw to. Once he got that down things flowed for him.

It's hard to believe that they aren't working on this with him. I mean they didn't let him take a 7 step drop without play action until week 14 of his rookie season. They must recognize it.

I don't know. I've been pretty hard on Dak, but I do see him making more throws 10-20 yards down field outside the numbers. That's what he needs to do to open up the middle of the field again. So while it's not as fast as I like, I still glimpses of improvement that make me think we should see where this goes and not give up on him Too quickly.
Maybe they are working on it with him, and he's just not getting it. Maybe he's just gotten so used to being athletic enough to overcome his technical flaws, that now that he needs to, he can't.

The hopping is the worst. Lots of QBs have happy feet. I can't recall a QB who likes getting airborn like Dak. What is that?
Excuse me, while I don't like the hop either, you may wanna think back to a little known QB by the name of Roger Staubach. He not only hopped, but outright jumped a lot to make throws.

Just a thought...maybe a more seasoned QB coach (instead of Linehan’s pet cat) might speed up Dak’s development?

I don't think anybody is saying Dak's an elite passer...I do think a lot of people believe he could become a quite capable passer though. I am one of those people, I've seen enough from him to warrant that though. Personally I think it never happens with these coaches he's got. Dak's got enough talent and all of the intangibles to be a quality NFL starting QB but he's not there yet...if his coaches actually helped him win ball games and masked some of his deficiencies while he developed it would help a lot. This doesn't happen though, this staff exacerbates his problems and doesn't play to his strengths.
I wouldn't give up on Dak yet either. The coaches did mask his deficiencies his rookie year. D coordinators realized Dak could throw consistently outside the numbers so they started to double Beasley and/or Witten and started to dare Dak to throw to the outside.

This is when defenses give up big plays, so the offense should have been more rather than less explosive with D's playing this way. Obviously that hasn't been the case.

The last two weeks though, and especially last week, I've started to see Dak make more intermediate throws near the sidelines. Watch for times that the WR has to drag his feet to make the catch and stay in bounds. You almost never see it in our offense. If Dak keeps progressing in that area then the middle of the field will open back up and then an extension for Dak doesn't seem so crazy.

That's what I will,be looking out for today.

I'm sure they are. It takes a lot of repetition for it to take hold though....
