Daks passing stats, last 16 starts

Contrast these numbers to Romo's final 16 starts. I realize that Dak runs more etc, but these are essentially the same run heavy first offenses but with different signal callers.

People are starting to get it.

I personally see what people think they are seeing with Dak. He has a lankier wind up and his throwing motion just doesn't look as fluid as Romo, Aikman or Rodgers. So when he misses, it kind of looks ugly. And that triggers Cowboy fans.

But if you look at Dak from a more pragmatic perspective, he performs well enough to win and his style works.

It's up to the coaches to figure out how to game against defenses to score in the redzone.

That should be the number one priority from here on.. that, and reducing penalties.

Can we compare Romo's last 16 games vs. Mahommes last 16 games and see how our iconic hero matches up there?

Did have an elite Oline, receivers, and RB which helped but he was playing fantastic. Too bad injuries got to him right when he was heating up.

Imagine if we gave Dak an elite Oline, RB, and receivers and 13 seasons before calling for his head.

I agree.

Romo did have pretty gaudy numbers his first full season as a starter though. They tapered off the last few games of that 2007 season though
 
Dak also has 6 rushing TDs in his last 16 games. I don't understand why people want to not account for a QB's rushing TDs as if they are worth fewer points than a passing TD.

Dak still isn't playing up to the level Romo was, but hardly anybody was. Romo is one of the most underrated QBs of the generation.

Definitely apples to oranges. Doesnt factor anything Dak has done as a runner. I think Dak leads the NFL in QB TDs since he came into the NFL.....in a league that Cam is a part of that is pretty impressive and should not be taken for granted by fans IMO.

Dak had both of them until this year. Did they regress so much, of was he just not able to hit the jump ball or back shoulder fade with Dez,vor anticipate Witten's burtonhoob?
 
Please just keep in mind that you're comparing Romo's last 16 games, a stretch including 2014, which was his best year and last year.

So we're comparing the best year, the last year of Romo's career, to just the third year of Dak's career after a not great season offensively. Romo is a better QB for sure but the time frames selected really help Romo look good here.

Romo's third year as a starter, already his 5th in the league, is much more comparable to Dak's third year:

61.3% comp rate, 26TD, 14 INT, 3500 yards

That was in 13 games and in a different NFL. Romo’s 16 game pace of 32 TDS would have been second in the NFL. In 2018 32 TDS is not a particularly big deal (unless you’re Dak).
The truth is Romo’s worst season is better than the last two from Dak. Tony was always better than Dak... probably even going back to high school. Maybe even elementary.

I really do think the majority having an understanding of what Dak actually is.
It's just that the few on the extreme sides of both spectrum are typically the loudest.

Those that dont want him to start next season while on his rookie contract are clueless
Those that think he's the best young QB anf devoid of any blame are also clueless.

Just by getting Dak one receiving playmaker we became a playoff team.
What do we become if we add a competent offensive coordinator and a couple other pieces? I'm not sure but I'd love to find out.
 
This is like comparing McCaffrey to Zeke. Their games are so different that it's nonsensical.

3 games into his career and many people were already to bench the dozen season vet for this "fresh new face".

He got the job. At that point, you're the guy and you're judged as such.
