What's weird about that play was the lack of effort to tackle talib. If you rewatch you can see Dez casually jogging back .

Apparently, you never see the infinite number of times this type of jogging happens on INTs in a context such as that...

Dak wasn't pressured at all.

It was either Dak threw the wrong route or Dez ran the wrong route, or Dak just totally threw the worst pass ever, which is possibly the case.

Dez looks like he's expecting the corner fade.

why is this a ban worthy post? Look at the pass, I've never seen something thrown with such little velocity on that route directly to the corner.
it was desperate throw, and rewatching the video it looks like he expected Dez to turn around right in front of endzone rather than going in. not seeing your 'pointshaving' type throw at all

Oh my eyes.. there are no beer goggles thick enough to unsee that...

What a bust.. I've tried to defend him but he is afraid of contact and so weak at the ball.. absolute liability.
I was chastised earlier this week for saying this....being accused of not watching film or understanding Rod's scheme or really anything football related.

It doesn't take much football acumen to know when someone doesn't have it.

You want to see something ugly?

I'm not a Byron Jones "hater," so I guess that makes me a "supporter" by default, that said, I saw the play in the Tweet and lack of physical toughness is a major red flag in my book; that's why I didn't like Mo.

Byron's got a lot to prove this season.

He threw before Dez cut. He expected Dez to fake outside and cut back inside.

Blame is ALL on Dez.

There are middle school WRs that run better routes.

You're full of it X.

There's no way to tell from that video that Dez was supposed to break inside. If anything Dez is trailing off to the right for the back shoulder but Dak threw it too far inside.

The corner fade.

My least favorite pass in football.

Jones' thoughts:
"I really don't want to tackle the RB, so maybe if I just engage myself with Thomas, the coaches will think I was being blocked and won't see that I actually gave up on the play".

That reminds me a Mike Jenkins ducking away from a tackle

There was no reason to engage 88 there. He couldve went straight for the tackle. Smh

what don't make sense is why would a defender engage an offensive guy who is not carrying the ball purposely? Jones did and I have to ask why?

Holy **** Madden is based off real football lol.

Beyond frustrating in that game where a defender goes to get blocked instead of the ball carrier, I guess they consulted Byron Jones on defensive animations.

That looked bad, not sure what he was thinking.

if it wasn't already a blowout it would have looked like he was point shaving. If anybody has a clip of it, that pass was not intended for a Cowboy

Like everyone else has said on this thread, that's a ridiculous charge.

Let's face it, Dak played like a rookie on Sunday, something he ironically didn't do his entire rookie season. In this particular case, I think he broke the huddle with the idea that he was going to throw to Dez and that was it. It was a poor throw, Dez was well covered, and Dak never looked anywhere but directly at him.

Rookie mistake. We'll know next week whether we're two games into the sophomore jinx or if this was just a bad game.

too many stutter steps and shoulder wiggles...........I'd also say he faked out Dak, but I'd also say Talib had the slant read from before the snap and wasnt gonna give Dez the inside........

Cowboys are easy to scout.........

Dez doesn't do tackles, lol
Or chase guys.
Evidently Zeke doesn't either.
Beasely could have made the tackle,
But he doesn't know how, lol went too
high.
On the pass, I think he thought dez
would stop or come back.
By that point dak was rattled, and that's
when qb will make bad decisions.

Ridiculous, that is the same route and position of the defender on the earlier TD pass. The fade was the correct pass and roite. Dak blew it and I don't care but to blame that on Dez is absurd
