DAL: Holland Staying or Going?

He won't be here. They'll hang on to see if anyone nibbles for a 5th-7th rounder but other than that he won't make it to camp.

Uhhh, he's an unrestricted free agent, hoss... so why would anybody offer us any draft pick for a player who can be signed without compensation to his old team??

If he'd sign a vet min deal with no bonus and fight for a spot in camp, that'd be fine with me. Otherwise, I'd rather not commit to a guy who won't commit to getting in game shape.

That's what I meant. You sign him to be a backup until you're able to cut him because you've got a better backup.

If someone wants to pay him guaranteed money or give him a long-term deal, then let him go. No reason not to explore bringing him back for camp because of injury possibilities and the fact that we don't know if we've got a better backup guard on the roster.

Got a feeling, though, that someone will give him a better deal than Dallas is willing to offer ... possibly promising a shot at a starting job.
