The Cowboys setup is better in the middle of the field with all views included and with no ads taking up a good deal of the space.

Yeah, no 240 horses on the screen either back in Dallas.

I would think they'll put a league scoreboard on there somewhere. It definitely has crappy dimensions but they could split screen and show two live camera angles which would be pretty sweet.

I think there was a team that was talking about having live gameplay from other games on their boards as well. Maybe Jacksonville. Might actually up their attendance.

Well, I know I'm glad Dallas still has the aspect ratio advantage. Not quite sure how I would go on without having that in the back pocket.

As a Cowboys fan who lives in California I have zero understanding of the Cowboys/Texans rivalry. Are there a lot of Texans fans who badger you guys about the Texans or something? Just want some insight on why it seems like everyone hates the Texans so much, because as someone who doesn't live in Texas I have no feeling towards them.

It is only a rival to the Texans fans. Texans fans are also super annoying, worse than most iggles fans.

It is mostly a rival for Texans fans not Cowboy fans. As a Cowboys fan I respect the Texans but alot of the fans are people who jumped the ship on the Cowboys

I look at Texans fans and screen kinda like this. The Cowboys are the teenagers getting ready to go off to college soon; the Texans are the 12 year-old, middle school brother that doesn't get enough attention from their family. thus, he holds his breath and does something outlandish just to get noticed; the teenager just says "what?" as if you aren't even there

I give you, the Texans new screen

I'll take ours hanging over the field.

I'm with you on that if your at a Texans game you have to turn your head to see that screen at our stadium, you can see our screen from whatever direction your in without turning your head. Our placement is better Jerry hit the nail on the head with it.

I was looking at the long Texans screen and wondering this...

if I am watching a play.. one broadcast where is it bigger. So i got the measurements.

Cowboys = 72' x 160'
vs.
Texans = 53' x 277'

And here is the Question answered.. Here is a look at a game broadcast fit to the screen.

http://i64.***BLOCKED***/albums/h161/obiraddlee/gamesizecomparison_zps7fdceb21.jpg

So well done Texans.. you Got the Tax payers to pay for it, and left a lot of room for adds and other games scores.. which is good cause thats what most people will care about when they are done watching yall by halftime..

So it's technically "bigger" but the dimensions are poor. It's basically three smaller screens put side by side. It's nice but nearly as good as the Cowboys screens. I just think it's weird that tax payers had to fund it and not the Texans themselves.

I work in Dallas and the company's main office is in Houston.One of my co-workers (who's a Giants fan), got an email from Houston with all the usual lame Cowboys jokes. I told him I am not even worried about Texans fans, they are bugs on the Cowboys' windshield. We only play them once every 4 years anyway(except for preseason this year). I usually root for them when I see them, just makes it hard when their fans are so freaking obnoxious.

If you lived in the Houston area you wouldn't root for him. The Cowboys hate is strong down here.

I wonder what they are ever going to do with the Astrodome. It just sits there right next to Reliant. Rotting.

From a purely economic stance, their boards are genius because they can claim the be the biggest while 2/3rds of it is purely advertising or scoreboards. They will be big revenue producers but any fan that has been to AT&T will come away disappointed. When they show replays, they won't really be that much bigger than before and certainly nowhere near as big as in Dallas. For the space they had and where they put them, they are nice but do not even come close to delivering the gameday experience you get in Dallas.

I personally don't have any hate for the Texans. It's more of an annoyance with their fans. Close proximity I guess so it sticks out more than the normal hate we would get from other franchises.

As the other poster showed, the replays won't be any bigger due to the screen dimensions, and I think the fact ours is over the middle of the playing field and the end zone fans have their own screen on each end is much more user friendly.

This is so true. I went to grad school in Huntsville, and all the Cowboys games were blacked out each Sunday. Very frustrating. So I would have to go to a bar, and all the Texans fans their would pay more attention to the Cowboys' games than to their own, it was sad really. I was also blacked out from Ranger games, no one should ever be forced to watch the Astros.

Jerry paid for it out of his own pocket compared to how much he put intot he stadium. Houston tax payers are footing the bill for their owners greed

Jerry paid for less than 1/4 of AT&T stadium and used more public money than the Texans did in their stadium construction.

I wish they'd demo it, but there's yet another proposal on the table to turn it into some sort of convention center deal to complement the rest of Reliant Park. There's gonna be a vote in Nov, I think.

That's not exactly true. I think the tax payers for each municipality paid about the same for stadium costs. Cowboys paid for over half for the stadium. Arlington money was capped at $300m or so. Jerry paid for the rest out of pocket, with the total cost coming in at $1billion.
