Did any of you guys notice that over the last several years when we brought in two tight ends at the goal line and ran the ball the tight ends did literally nothing for it. At least when you go three wides it gave Zeke some room to run the ball. It seemed to me that over the past several years that was a huge fail.

They never were able to run a 2 or 3 TE set correct under Garrett. Or at least seemed that way. One of this offenses failures, as they always thought they were out smarting other teams, when they just out-dumbed themselves.

NAME ONE TOP DEFENDER OUR TES HAVE DOMINATED IN 7 PLUS YEARS. AVG BLOCKERS HAVE NO BUSINESS PLAYING EVERY PASSING SNAP. EVERYDOWN PASSING PLAYS ARE DESIGNED FOR SUPERSTAR RECEIVERS NOT BLOCKERS BECAUSE YA CANT SCORE POINTS BLOCKING.

WE GIVE THIS 5 TD A YEAR TE CORE A FREE PASS FROM SCORING. GRONK WAS PUTTING UP 10 PLUS TDS EVERY YEAR BY HIMSELF DRAWING DOUBLE AND TRIPLE COVERAGE.

GO GET A GRONK OR AT LEAST A JARED COOK OR JIMMY GRAHAM. SOMEBODY WHO CAN JUMP MORE THAN 2 INCHES OFF THE GROUND AND CATCH PASSES IN THE AIR. LOL. THESE TES STINK. THEY ARE OVERINVOLVED FOR THEIR TALENT LEVEL AS RECEIVERS AS ALWAYS

Lower case is your friend.

Not exactly true. The TE can seal off an OLB or OT that might otherwise move inside for a tackle, plus sometimes runs start inside then bounce outside. Also, if you only use a blocking TE when you run outside the opponent will pick up on it.
In the past Dallas has used the TE to pull and seal off pursuit coming from the back side.

They also have split them them out wide for quick screens as blockers.

So we have creativity for TEs but just not a single player who can be effective running them.

Well, that’s what happens when one of your TE’s is 47 years old and the the other is an average blocker at best

might as well bring in another o-lineman
