Since we're 28th on the waiver wire pecking order any last minute pickups we make will likely be seasoned vets that don't go through waivers.
I agree that makes sense, I could of picked this 53 after the first couple of weeks of TC, Cooper Rush did come at me sideways, a very pleasant surprise if he continues his trajectory. Marquis White was disappointing maybe PS although some notable talent from the draft was jettisoned yesterday.

Wait, you know what cowboys scouts are telling the FO?

You must be a part of the Cowboys FO

what other inside info do you have?

This is not about what the scouting department tells the front office. It's about draftees and free-agent signees playing at a level commensurate with what is invested in them. When you look at it from that angle,it tells me that the scanning department has done it's job.

It's real simple. When you sign a $3 million DE, you get a $3 million DE… Not one who will register 15 sacks per season, which is what people seem to expect around here from Benson Mayowa.

When you draft a linebacker in the fourth round, rarely do you get a pro bowl player. Instead, you get – surprise, surprise – a fourth round linebacker... like Anthony Hitchens.

The point all along for those who can't follow is that Dallas' defensive scouts "miss" on player evaluations no more then any other teams. You can't take a player like Mayowa or Hitchens and, just because they don't register 15 sacks, or make all pro, that the scheduling department "missed" on them.

So you don't know what the scouts are ssyong but you know that whatever they're saying is right

Yep, makes total sense

Actually, it makes a lot of sense. If the majority of the players you draft/sign are performing as expected (or exceeding expectations), the logical inference is that your scouts are doing their job. It makes no sense to infer that they're succeeding despite their scouting department.

Coming off 13-3, you could make that argument. However the last two round seven picks were pretty bad. Whatever happend to using those on athletic players with upside?
In the end Cowboys did the right thing by cutting them. Drafted or not, they did not belong on the roster.
