Assuming it was called correctly, I don’t understand how it can stand in the NFL.
Whether a fair catch or not, when a defender hits the receiver or prevents him from catching the ball, it’s a penalty. So if he grabs a blocker and throws him into the punt returner, that has to be a penalty as well. Now,if the blocker runs into his own man while trying to get to a block or pick a defender off, that’s a muff or all the fault of the receiving team. The Chargers guy purposely threw Tolbert into Turpin. If that is allowed, it’s a rule that should be changed.
And even if that wasn't a penalty the hands to the face was blatant.

It is not allowed and would be called any other time. Attempting to frame it as he was blocked into Turpin holds no water and the fact that it was so quickly is a big deal.

The officiating WAS sketchy, but so was our propensity for penalties.
I agree the Cowboys in general deserve most of the flags they get for bone headed mistakes. They can however be a highly penalized team and be on the losing end of corrupt officiating. Committing the number of penalties they do just makes them an easier target.

Garrett won 13 games. MM is an idiot. Makes some of the dumbest time management decisions in the NFL.
Once upon a time. Garrett also went 4-12, and 8-8 4 times, hence the nickname ol' 8 & 8.

Well-deserved penalties and not taking care of the ball almost cost us another game. We got lucky because the other team was making the same mistakes.

That game was so fixed by the NFL to make it interesting and compete against the MLB in the ratings...
