Yeah that's just the way it goes on here. Sad really.

You mean, people have different and even opposing opinions? No way!

Ah, the optimism of the preseason.

:)

What do you mean optimism? This really is the season that every single player is motivated and in the absolute best shape of their lives.

In the Senior Bowl practices that I saw, JJ Wilcox looked better in coverage than Webb. They were practicing against the same WRs.

I actually agree with this. And that's not a knock on Webb. Wilcox has very impressive feet for a man of his size.

agree, but I would just re-phrase it as
"you better have atleast 3 good corners".
and I want to give Scandrick a good look this season, maybe all the pressure at every position can get him going too.
Scandrick has had many looks and he's pretty much bad to awful. His only good plays are when he holds and it's overlooked by the zebras. He often looks lost, is lost and he's either out of the play or inside the WR's jock.
I could only blame Ryans "confusing" D so much and then it's apparent he's just not very good.
I hope to see him only on special teams or replaced on the team altogether.

Scandrick is a bit more than a serviceable 3rd corner... he's a very solid slot guy.

Outside of missing that tackle on Rogers in the ATL game he played very well. He's one of the better slot guys in the league.

He's not all-pro and he certainly doesn't belong on the outside, but I'd say he's pretty underrated around here.

And you have to factor Claiborne is gonna be much improved this year, with the added muscle. I expect a big year for him. Carr, Clairborne, Scandrick. That is quality. Webb has looked great in the offseason camps so far. And Moore was pretty decent as a fill in last year. Ya, no one is saying it's Pro Bowl deep 1-5, but it is deep in terms of upside and potential.

He has very good measurables, hips, and turns well. He is also supposed to track the ball well which is something I miss our DBs doing. So he has all the tools. Let's see if he can adjust to the bigs and pick up all the mental side.

And OScan is a solid player. I think we overpaid some for him but at the time we didn't have a lot of choice to be fairer.

Rofl, there's a difference between having opposing opinions and the people who are negative for the sake of being negative.

I'm not a mind reader so I can't say what the motivation is for some to be so negative but for whatever reason they do it they do it so often that it goes beyond healthy dissension.

Fun fact... Scandrick had, by far, the lowest Passer rating against on the team, didn't surrender any touchdowns, and was overall a better cover guy than Carr.

He does one thing and he does one thing well... he plays the slot.

II think Scandrick is a good CB but not in a great scheme. With cover two and facing the QB. You will see him make more plays on the ball and more Ints.

That article came out before the NFL draft.

I didn't notice that. Makes me feel better about the pick.

thanx to the OP for posting this...everything I read on this guy is that he is very motivated to prove he belongs...and, I like that Carr is showing him the ropes

of course, there can't be much rope to go around because with all of the negative comments in this forum, you would think people are using it to hang themselves
