FEATURED *** Dallas Cowboys Initial 53-man roster ***

EXACTLY.
I mean...
I KNOW yada yada all the NFL lacks quality offensive linemen. I know that.
BUT an offensive tackle room consisting of Guyton, Steele, Jones and Shelton?

Anybody other than Thunderpimp, Jarntt, or Duncanslo and myself have a slight problem with that?

Oh never mind.
They had the number 2 offense, that's right.

Dont need no stinkin passblockers! LOL!
COWBOYS!!
I found one rookie 4th round pick that was cut before opening day.

I’m not high on Shelton at all, but cutting him was never gonna happen.

I see CB as being a definite spot for a pickup

Here are the one’s I’ve been tracking

Jets:
  • Jordan Clark (cut) - plays special teams and is better than our CB5/6. He was headed for a cut until Ponds got hurt. If Ponds goes on IT, Clark makes the 53.
  • Mory Bomba (pending, they’re trying to sneak him or trade him) - he was going to make their 53 but he got hurt. They may try to sneak him past waivers. He would be a great pickup but they may just make him one of their 2 IR stashes
Seahawks
  • Noah Igbinoghene (cut) - he’s athletic and plays special teams but may be vulnerable because to keep him, the Seahawks would likely have to cut a 2026 draft pick. He’s the type of veteran Parker might consider. We mocked Diggs for that one lowlight but Seahawks fans were really impressed with him in his debut and he might push this guy out
Chiefs:
  • Kristian Fulton - (pending- they’re still trying to trade him) this is a longshot but he’s a guy teams will be watching. The Chiefs signed him to a big contract but he’s on their bubble. They are trying to go with younger players and he has slipped in camp below younger, cheaper players. Classic sunk cost fallacy test for the Chiefs. They could be dug in because they paid him so much. They’d probably like to trade him but no one is likely to do it because they’d have to eat his bad contract. If he’s actually cut, there are a half dozen teams, including the Cowboys, who would be calling his agent before midnight
Word is it’ll be Adoree Jackson from what I’ve heard

With the Giants roster and possible pass rush and if memory serves Harbaugh likes to blitz from his days in Balt I would expect Joe Milton as Sunday night back up QB game one .

Whelp ........ they made good roster decisions and cut some of the dumb players ........ now lets see them take the next step and get to at least NFC champ game ........ then I will start believing this is more than just the usual Jerry con-job.

Here are the one’s from CB deep teams that I’ve been tracking. All will be definite upgrades to our depth.

Go get em Cowboys

Noah isn't an upgrade lol. And you've never seen those first 2 play to call them upgrades. Never

Telling you he wasn't available enough to do enough to take schoonmakers places played in real NFL games Who's been there the whole time uninjured maybe you don't understand that i'm saying it again you have to be present he did not do enough he did not stay healthy he did not do anymore than Rico Gathers did matter of fact fairweather last year was the guy who should have met remained on the team who's with the Cardinals now he was the best tight end in preseason and still didn't make the team I had to deal with it

Say it again he missed too much time with the toe he didn't do enough to unseat a player who's already established enough to be part of the team you have to do more than that he did not do enough and I agree with the coaches yes he has all the ability in the world but he didn't do enough,.
Schoonmaker is a bum. He didn't get even 200 yards in receiving or even a TD last season. He lost his 2nd string position to a UDFA in Spann- Ford. Trigg has more upside and gets open. Schoonmaker is a stiff nothing more.

Should have kept Michael Trigg and cut Luke Schoonmaker
Trigg just wasn’t very good and when Schoonmaker filled in for Ferguson in real NFL games he produced at a similar level so I don’t see why people are so eager to get rid of him. Schoonmaker was a terrible pick in the second round considering he was neither particularly good nor at a position of need but that doesn’t mean we should just get rid of him for no reason. He is a lot better than what Trigg has shown us in camp.

Is a veteran like him even have any practice squad eligibility left...
Currently, every team can have 6 veterans on their practice squad, with no limitation on accrued seasons, so there is not much of a "practice squad eligibility" anymore.

Not that I want us to sign him to ours.

He needs time in a pro weightroom. From an athletic standpoint he has great left tackle traits. His strength just isn't there yet. Teams have to declare an inactive list every week anyway, so might as well give Shelton a redshirt season.
According to Duke Manyweather it's his technique that is the issue. Same for the new OL as well.

That was already determined I just saw 3 QB’s listed ?
It's pretty much known. This is about winning now, not developing players.

That why they brought Howell here and paid him guaranteed money. He's done this before.

Milton earned his roster spot though. He was set to be cut in the off-season.

Nope, Trigg constantly was making catches in practice

I think bringing him in would be Parker’s first “comfort over quality” decision.

Two of the four I listed have six years experience so Jackson doesn’t have an edge there.

Three of the four better players right now (Igbinoghene and Fulton) or have much, much more upside and just got squeezed out (Clark).

Bamba is a pet cat so he might be a PS candidate. I doubt he gets back to the Seahawks at 32. They just made him one their two IR stashes.

VERY important to remember this is the "Cowboys initial 53-man roster" and not the "Cowboys final 53-man roster" roster.

Yes there is a difference. Likely additions and subtractions made the next couple of weeks before the Giants.
I think everybody knows that… And BTW, there is virtually no final 53 man roster… It is fluid, for the entire season

Both Schoon and Carson at CB are head scratching decisions.
