Dallas Cowboys invested in toughness – will it pay off?

Are we talking about the rookies that have never played a snap in the NFL and we have no idea how they will be?

We have no idea what they have invested in until we see it on the field. They might have invested in gold or Radio Shack. We'll see.

Talking about investments, try Zales Jewelers, where there are diamonds...

by the way, on weeks 1 and 2, Dallas faces up against 2 of the top 5 NFL receivers they will face up against. How did Diggs and Dallas face up against them again, and up against the Cowboys secondary?

Who cares how Diggs did?

We lost the game.

You guys put too much stock into individual performances. Do you feel better about losing if a certain player has a good game or not? I certainly don't.

You don't understand "traits" of players? Weird stuff.

Naw, try again...some of us don't expect everyone on an unnamed team will go snipe hunting at the drop of your hat.

Just answer your own statement by reading the whys involved with actual records of carpet time against top players...you know, the hard nosed deeds against top players. Not just insult and slander accusations...Ace.

Do your own work now, uninformed.

I like the the idea of tough and attitude as long as it’s done smartly and not having guys that think taking bad penalties or going after the whistle equals tough. That’s fine if the rest are disciplined and you have an enforcer but we need hard nosed, punch you in the mouth and smart. I feel like our 90s Ds had that element…tough, fly to the ball, etc but no dumb penalties

That is how a team works, and leadership comes with experience.

Tyler Biadasz is not what comes to me as overly physical, but there are several center pivots that are not incredible hulks.
They are not weight room fanatics.

Philly's center Jason Kelcie was known as one of the better centers in the NFL, and wasn't a physically imposing hulk
or a stand out athlete, but had other attributes that made him a quality center.

But i do want Tyler B to be functional strong enuff on the playing field, to prove himself enuff that he can be trusted to handle that 3-4 NT or DT by himself- without needing double team help.
As well as the other aspects of top center play.
Consistently getting the moving target, and into the second level of defenders, adjusting to stunt/twists and overload blitzes at the line. The proper line calls and on the move audibles.
Becoming a natural leader and calming influence. The jury is still out.

Lack of toughness was a big part of the issue, just as it has been almost every season under Jerry's GMing.
Very true but I don't think getting a couple of "tough" players is gonna solve the issue, the change has to come from the coach as long as Jerry is GM.

A no nonsense coach is what this team needs to change the culture...tired of seeing this team getting punked.

Toughness is a blue collar attitude. Does this team strike you as that and does the owner even want that?

Smith was picked because they believe he might be the eventual LT, not because he’s aggressive.

- Being tough is one thing ... being more physical is another.

- For instance TE Dalton Schultz is a tough guy, ..but it's questionable to say he is physical.

- I prefer the term "physical " ...instead of "tough ".
And physical is an element that we should be trying to get on Both sides of the line.
And in both trench sides,.. both OL and DL.

Doesn't hurt in a completely physical sport.

Not tough? Then how does he improve last year's left guard projections, not needing to hold to block?

Those that characterize speculative optimism as misinformed wishful thinking, or “Pom Pom” wavers, are also quick to speculate negativity.

My speculation? We APPEAR to have drafted some players that APPEAR tougher, which is a good thing.

So we got a "tough guy" who has a penchant for the actual problem that led to our demise, that being penalties? Yeah...get "tough". And if they were trying to get tougher, there were a few tough additions they could have added in FA to make us downright scary. Jerry doesn't have a clue what he's doing.
