Dallas Cowboys legend looks unnatural and wrong in Seahawks team photo

Dang, kinda crazy Lawerence will have a longer career than Martin. Seems like he was injured more than Zack too. He definitely wasn't a legend, but he was far more of a keystone (and a great) player than most would give him credit for. Ironically I think people really soured on him after the comments following the last GB playoff loss, and if you really watch the game he was quite literally the only defender who showed up to play.

In terms of notoriety instead of legend, I believe Demarcus Lawrence is comparable to Dez Bryant. Not so much with Tony Romo though. And before I get vilified (not by you necessarily), I do not see Romo's notoriety measurably equal to Troy Aikman's.
Same. I'd put Romo above those two, but he doesn't reach "legend" status, either.

Maybe for the Tennessee Titans or Arizona Cardinals, but not here.

It’s the “doldrums” period in the NFL off-season schedule. Post draft, FA, post OTAs and mini-camps. And 3 weeks until training camp.

In other words, the most outrageous click bait stories usually happen this time of year.

I respected DLaw as a player here. But “legend”? That’s an affront to the true Cowboys legends who have played here over the last 65 years.

I consider Romo and Law the same in their respective fields. Especially since they didn’t win anything or play big in post season games.

Now some would add Witten and Ware to that but they were all decade type careers so I can see them being in a different class then Romo and Lawrence.
I believe it is clear early on everyone's definition of 'legend' will not exactly match that of their fellow members.

Probably not. I don’t remember the rings as well as others so for guys like me who didn’t see Bob Lilly and Randy White play….guys like Romo and Dez are our legends….might be crazy for some to think but yeah I was an adult when these guys came around I was a child when Mike and Emmitt played.

Exactly.
Romo, Dez, and other players like them are not legends as to team lore.

But they can be a legend to a huge fan of theirs.
Say, Jason Witten. Is he more of a legend than Tony Romo? That will be a fans opinion. but are either a true legend.

To me a legend is a player of HOF caliber, and / or in the ROH.
Players and teams that made fans a fan from the old days and throughout the 90's.

Even record setting players, such as team records should not necessarily make them a legend. But an NFL record, possibly, Even if they were not "team" successful in the playoffs. That goes back to Witten and where his records stand amongst TE's.
DeMarcus Ware, where does he stand. High in sacks, but is he a legend. He did not get his SB ring here. How does that effect his status.

All subjective to fans.

.....his bankruptcy promo shot. ..;).. Some can rid faster of millions, than I can save for carburetor.

Well that’s the thing…the past 30 years we are the Titans and Cardinals….actually worse they’ve been to SBs past the VhS era…
Of course most of our legends have not come from the last 30 years. But that doesn't diminish the true legends who played before that period.

That hurts to read. But, man, it's true. The Raiders have been to a SB past the VHS era as well.
Yep. I saw a post showing the difference between the 49ers and Rams….to watch the clips of the Rams highlights you just have to scan a QR code. To watch 49ers SB winning highlights you have to pop in a VHS. And they’ve at least been to SBs….def hurts.

I think Legend would be how long they stay on the minds of the teams fans after they are gone ...... i do not think anyone will be talking about Tank in 10 years ....... the others mentioned will be.

Oh not at all. Can’t diminish talents. For me the difference between a lot of our guys and the older guys is playoff success and championships. More hardware and these guys would look as good.

I think Romo, Witten and Ware get in the ROH. Don’t think Law does….i think Dez should but not sure about him either.

Jerry have him 100 million figuring that would turn him into Charles Haley.

“Because I pay him to be.”

I just…I can’t put my finger on exactly why this team can’t win. I’m missing it somehow.

I really liked Romo or Witten, and even DLaw at times. But they aren't legends in my book.

This is a sports team with one mission. People who haven't fulfilled that mission at least once can't be legends by definition. They can be very good and might have shaped an era, but they'll never be legends.

I think Romo’s narrative league wide, not just with Cowboys fans, is completely different with one ring in 2007, 2014, or 2016 (I think those were his best chances).

Witten not having hardware won't diminish his legacy. Even if Ware didn't get one in Denver, his legacy was solidified. It's something about the QB position that makes the title overcome the obvious differences in players skill sets.
