Dallas Cowboys legend looks unnatural and wrong in Seahawks team photo

Probably not. I don’t remember the rings as well as others so for guys like me who didn’t see Bob Lilly and Randy White play….guys like Romo and Dez are our legends….might be crazy for some to think but yeah I was an adult when these guys came around I was a child when Mike and Emmitt played.
I am glad you elaborated on how you define 'legend'. It is different from mine.

I was three when Don Meredith threw his last pass. I was born the year before Jim Brown left the NFL permanently for Hollywood.

Meredith quarterbacked the franchise during its infancy from relative obscurity to the first prominent stages of professional football. Arguably, Brown was the preeminent standard for running back greatness for all players that came after him.

I have seen their highlights. Ex-players, coaches and media have discussed who they meant to their teams and the NFL. Their legacies sit within the Pro Football Hall of Fame for all generations to take in, learn and reflect upon for as long as it exists.

Both of these players are examples of legends in my opinion. It was not necessary for me to see them play. No one person thinks the same, but... I do not know. I do not understand how not knowing anyone, who has done something important, automatically diminishes that aspect of their life or career.

EDIT: Meredith is in the Hall but as a broadcaster and not as a player.

I think Romo’s narrative league wide, not just with Cowboys fans, is completely different with one ring in 2007, 2014, or 2016 (I think those were his best chances).

Witten not having hardware won't diminish his legacy. Even if Ware didn't get one in Denver, his legacy was solidified. It's something about the QB position that makes the title overcome the obvious differences in players skill sets.
I agree 100 percent. Definitely a harder hill to climb when you are a QB.

Jerry have him 100 million figuring that would turn him into Charles Haley.

“Because I pay him to be.”

I just…I can’t put my finger on exactly why this team can’t win. I’m missing it somehow.
lol. Sarcasm noted.

It may be wise not posting what you already know. Your comments might be rebutted by a 700-word essay. Or two. Maybe three.

DLaw was one of my least favorite players. I never liked him. He talked too much. I remember when he was rude to a kid that wanted his autograph. He was the ring leader of the Hot Boyz. Good riddance to him.

Lol…but I’m pretty sure I’m among the sixty ish that person claims to have on ignore.

Besides, I can actually handle an opinion that differs from mine.

DeMarcus Lawrence spent 11 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys, so seeing him in a Seattle Seahawks uniform is rather jarring.

The Dallas Cowboys lost their two longest-tenured players this offseason. Zack Martin, their first-round selection in 2014, retired after 11 seasons. DeMarcus Lawrence, who was selected in Round 2 of the same NFL draft, left in free agency.

Lawrence ended up signing a three-year deal with the Seattle Seahawks, and unfortunately, made some comments that led to a beef with Micah Parsons, and left fans with a bad taste in their mouth.

1 sack every 2.29 games is not a legend. A legend averages a sack every 1-1 1/2 games.

Legend?

When we bring up Emmitt, Troy, Irvin, Staubach, Lilly, Allen, Howley and the like you don’t say Lawrence as well

Let’s be so fr right now

He grew up idolizing Overshown. ;)

And some of you are just at a whack, look if you don't want to call them nfl legends ,that's ok ,hate to break it to you to cowboy fans regardless of what your definition of legend is to you, tony Romo is on the same exact level as Witten how could he not be he's the one who threw him most of his balls..

The fact that Dez Bryant has a short career doesn't make him less of a legend he was one of the best 88s to ever play he, literally owns the touchdown record in receiving TDS for the Cowboys... you can't own records and not be considered a legend or at least be considered for the ring of honor..

so you can nitpick and put some people on your list and not put others but I guarantee if they put witten in the ring of honor they're probably going to have to consider Romo and dez..

But the only thing I do agree about there's only one that should not be a question that is Witten. He's gonna be the Hall of Famer demarcus where possibly..

But as you notice I didn't mention tank1!

i'm sorry DeMarcus Lawrence doesn't even belong in the same conversation, he just doesn't, not that I don't like the guy, he never did enough.

I'm surprised he wasn't too tired to make this photo shoot.:muttley:. Is it going to bring in a hot boys change just for the Seattle and he's gonna make up stuff maybe he's going to call himself the new Legion of boom you know all by himself...

He will find some way....

He had no choice but to accept the highest pay contract offer since he spent all of his Cowboys earned money over the years and literally went bankrupt broke.

He still shouldn’t have said what he said about the Cowboys after he left this Spring. Big NO-NO. No "legend" Cowboy does that.

There's been quite a few players over the years that when they've retired or left the Cowboys it left me a little sad this isn't one of them he's never been a legend here he doesn't even belong in the same conversations that people are putting in with Romo and went in and Dez he doesn't those players are actually Legends and a lot of Cowboys minds they are very popular players that a lot of cowboy fans were sad to see go but not tank I don't know anybody who was upset or otherwise let down That he's playing for the Seahawks I could care less if he was playing for Washington or sewing in our division that it really it's not that daunting that he left.

What I hope is we end up playing him before he retires and somebody comes around the corner like Hunter or mafah or whoever might be blocking, perhaps Ferguson can take him out on a run block and just lay the dude out, that would be really nice...

So hard feelings though but I'm tired of talking about it..:muttley:

So he played 11 years for the Cowboys and had 61.5 sacks that's less than six sacks per year while Michael Parsons played four years and already has 52.5 sacks I mean.(shrug) . I know sacks are not everything and the guy played steady if anything that's what he'll be remembered for is you could count on him when he was in the game to be pretty good in a run game and a decent pass rusher made some plays but he won't even be close to can be considered a superstar let alone a legend....

I guess it's not nothing, but he is behind Greg Ellis 77 -61 hmm He is fourth all time in sacks But I'm guessing that he will be overtaken by Micah Parkson this season in his fifth year. Parsons is chasing Jeffcoat for 2nd place at 94.5.
obviously, ware is 1st at 117..
I'm really surprised Greg Ellis with all the negativity he got because of who we didn't pick and picked him instead it was kind of controversial but he had a really good career...

Not crazy and I feel for you, a lot of fans are in your same boat. I was fortunate to see the Legends in the 70s through the 90s and why they were considered that, now the word attached to some of these players is hollow to me, but there are some exceptions like Witten and Ware.

Oh not at all. Can’t diminish talents. For me the difference between a lot of our guys and the older guys is playoff success and championships. More hardware and these guys would look as good.

I think Romo, Witten and Ware get in the ROH. Don’t think Law does….i think Dez should but not sure about him either.

Law isn’t even close to being ROH. He was a good player who was on the team for a long time.

Never elite.

He just has longevity.

He looks fine.

Dang, kinda crazy Lawerence will have a longer career than Martin. Seems like he was injured more than Zack too. He definitely wasn't a legend, but he was far more of a keystone (and a great) player than most would give him credit for. Ironically I think people really soured on him after the comments following the last GB playoff loss, and if you really watch the game he was quite literally the only defender who showed up to play.
I wouldn't look at it necessarily like that,

one isn't ready to give up and it's hanging on too long and should retire and much like Barry Sanders,
Zach Martin is giving up early before he can't walk and before he can't do things he's going to want to do as an adult,
he's not going to try to do the Tyron Smith thing and TRY woefully to extend his career...

He's basically leaving on top...
