I'm really anxious to see Lance in action next summer. Hopefully we can get some answers about his ability to play in this league. Sounds like the coaching staff is happy with his progress and approach.

Dallas Cowboys 'Quarterback School': How Trey Lance Is Working Behind Dak Prescott

Dallas Cowboys 'Quarterback School': How Trey Lance Is Working Behind Dak Prescott

After being traded from the San Francisco 49ers, it feels like quarterback Trey Lance has finally settled in as a Dallas Cowboy.

While owner Jerry Jones has been clear about his support for Dak Prescott as the starter, that has not stopped Lance’s desire to get better and be ready for when his time comes.

Quarterback coach Scott Tolzien and Lance have created an instructed pregame workout that helps Lance get back to the fundamentals in hopes of growing as a quarterback.

Head coach Mike McCarthy refers to this work as “QB School,” in which they will be working on specific points of his technique.

Too bad Lance isn’t the #2 right now (Rush has earned it and deserves it for this season) as I’d love to see him put into the game to run some of those sneaks and “tush push” plays and maybe some specialty wildcat type plays. Obviously as the emergency #3 QB he can only play if the other two are injured and the team is unlikely to have 3 QBs active on game day.

Let's get better with the million slant passes we do each game first before we try to add something new ok??? Geez you fans just don't get it, by the way, let's find more run plays up the middle for a speed back as well!

I hope Lance learns and becomes a better QB than Dak.
Not a chance

I mean are you that delusional?? Prescott was better as a rookie than Trey Lance probably will ever be..or hope to be..lmao hes already lost that Batlle..year 1 day ROTY won 13 games 11 in row played well in the playoffs..right better umm ok when was Lance drafted either way he's way behind...better than top 10 not being part of a losing team and been to the payoffs 4 of 6 healthy seasons part of many #1 offense a few top 5 offenses..i mean has the DC O been lower then 10 lower then 5 since Dak was drafted. Doubt it.. you think its an easy goal to achieve and that why the haters and delusional Prescott hate dak fan club have no clue what real qb looks like and how hard it is to replace them...

Let's be clear we were very lucky to go right from Romo to Prescott... There are teams in this league they've been trying for decades to find a starting quarterback.

You're right, without Dak the Cowboys will stop losing playoff games.

Because they won't be in any.
100% that was spot on.. :hammer:  Many in here forget those five and eleven seasons back-to-back to back and all the quarterbacks like 12 or 13 bad ones between aikman and Romo they don't realize how lucky they are they had gone from Romo to Prescott with other teams for decades trying to look for a quarterback then turn around and have to give up draft picks and giant contracts at quarterbacks who are on Prescott's level or worse

Appears Lance is making the most of his second opportunity in the league. Young man is working overtime, preparing for his chance down the road.

I love how fans think the Cowboys can just go out and get another Mahomes every year. There's a much better chance they end up with a Sam Darnold, Baker Mayfield, Zach Wilson, or Justin Fields.

Like someone else said here: be careful what you wish for.

Nah.. The rookie contract is what gives you such a great chance at winning.

Kirk Cousins and Daks are almost impossible to win a title with.

His ability to play in this league should've been answered when he couldn't even beat out Sam Darnold for the backup position. Lance fans are going to be in for another let down

Good grief. Hoping Lance turns out better ain't delusional. It's just a hope. If he does, great. If he doesn't, that's okay too. It's no different than hoping a rook steps in and is better than the current starter. It's how teams improve.

I agree that it is exceptionally difficult to find an elite QB. Even a high first round pick is no guarantee.

The thing is, once the realization is made that Dak is incapable of winning a championship, then there is nothing to lose by moving on in an attempt to find a better QB.

Has that realization been made? That's up for debate obviously.

Worse QB's than Dak have won it all, but it is exceptionally unlikely.
