now dak is in the same category as Marino and Kelly, we would hate to lose out on him winning nothing........
The problem is the faulty thinking that a team should move on from a good QB in an attempt to find a better one. No one does that. Look around the league. Why do you think so many QBs who’ve never won anything are making big money on second and third contracts? If you have an average to above average QB that helps you get to the playoffs, helps put up back to back 12 win seasons, you start looking for and developing someone who may be better, but you don’t walk away from your franchise QB until you think you have that guy. Jerry’s mistake was not drafting mid to late round QBs throughout Dak’s second contract. He did nothing. Barring some blockbuster trade or Lance ripping our defense and looking like a star later in the season, Dak will be extended….guaranteed! There is no team that would let Dak go until they have the next guy on the roster or have secured a top QB pick in the draft, and most teams still hold onto their starter until the top draft pick proves himself.there is nothing to lose by moving on in an attempt to find a better QB.
You have some good thoughts here. To be fair, you literally deleted half of a single sentence when you quoted me, and thus significantly changed the meaning of my statement. For the sake of clarity, here is what I actually said:The problem is the faulty thinking that a team should move on from a good QB in an attempt to find a better one. No one does that. The thing is, once the realization is made that Dak is incapable of winning a championship, then there is nothing to lose by moving on in an attempt to find a better QB.
Has that realization been made? That's up for debate obviously.
He’s already had two seasons with that genius HC at 49ers.I hope Lance learns and becomes a better QB than Dak.
LoL, they would be in just as many. Probably win less reg season games but still make the play offs as often. Rush has proven that this team can win games no matter who's under center. The big disappointment is rather that Dak just doesn't elevate this team even further beyond what it already is as he should. You're right, without Dak the Cowboys will stop losing playoff games.
Because they won't be in any.
HabahahaaaasIf the Dallas Cowboys were know for having a quarterback school it would be the equivalent of University of Phoenix Online....
he gets paid like how?The problem is Dak needs to be carried and he gets paid to be a guy that’s capable of carrying when he’s clearly not that guy.
That’s the problem.
If you are a cowboys fan and are waiting for the next Cowboys QB of substance...you will wait until the Cowboys acquire such QB because I am pretty sure Trey Lance is not it.
I can understand if some want to move on from Dak.
Thinking anything is better is nothing more than hater logic and not realistic logic.
i like everything except for the premise is you think just drafting and or bringing in competition for Prescott somehow would it put us in a different situation. newsflash teams struggle to find 16 solid starting quarterbacks throughout the 32 team league. other teams have done this and failed..The problem is the faulty thinking that a team should move on from a good QB in an attempt to find a better one. No one does that. Look around the league. Why do you think so many QBs who’ve never won anything are making big money on second and third contracts? That’s funny but the cowboys actually have been pretty lucky when it comes to franchise qbsIf the Dallas Cowboys were know for having a quarterback school it would be the equivalent of University of Phoenix Online....
Ya because they are so good at it?Stephen McGhee and Ben Denucci say hiUm...you have to actually draft a qb to find out.
What is your problem? This guy hopes he is better than Dak and you are on the attack, and love to use the "hater" term" for anybody that doesn't think Dak is our franchise QB...sheesh with guys like you on here. And oh yeah, after 30 years I can safely say we still don't have our franchise QB, and if you are happy with just having a starting QB then you are the delusional oneNot a chance
I mean are you that delusional?? Prescott was better as a rookie than Trey Lance probably will ever be..or hope to be..lmao hes already lost that Batlle..year 1 day ROTY won 13 games 11 in row played well in the playoffs..right better umm ok when was Lance drafted either way he's way behind...better than top 10 not being part of a losing team and been to the payoffs 4 of 6 healthy seasons part of many #1 offense a few top 5 offenses..i mean has the DC O been lower then 10 lower then 5 since Dak was drafted. Doubt it.. you think its an easy goal to achieve and that why the haters and delusional Prescott hate dak fan club have no clue what real qb looks like and how hard it is to replace them...
Let's be clear we were very lucky to go right from Romo to Prescott... There are teams in this league they've been trying for decades to find a starting quarterback.
I hope he is better, I see what we have with the guy we have now. What is your problem? This guy hopes he is better than Dak and you are on the attack, and love to use the "hater" term" for anybody that doesn't think Dak is our franchise QB...sheesh with guys like you on here. The guys you listed mean nothing, they were carried, the Cowboys D isn’t carrying anyone. Dak is paid to carry not tag along for the ride that’s why he’s paid elite money. I guess he cut a lot of those qb school classes. The fact that so many are afraid to move on shows that they are happy with one and done and being able to beat up on weaker opponents and Jerry is content with that as it keeps the Cowboys relevant and in the news and that good enough for him and folks buy into it. It’s a championship team so says Jerry every year and the homer fans rejoice and when it falls apart again there’s always a scapegoat to blame, who will it be this season, so far we have OL, RBs, WRs, TEs, OC, OLC, HC and defensive, kinda funny the same list the last 8 seasons but Jerry’s happy so that’s all that matters. The list of QB's that have reached (not necessarily won, but reached) the Super Bowl include the likes of Stan Humphries, Neil O'Donnell, Chris Chandler, Kerry Collins, Trent Dilfer, Jake Delhomme, Matt Hasselbeck, Rex Grossman, Eli Manning, Joe Flacco, Cam Newton, Nick Foles, and Jimmy Garropolo. History proves a "lesser" QB making it to the big one is not as unlikely as it seems.
The notion that the Cowboys and Dak are "incapable" of winning a championship is pure speculation; because with proper coaching and scheme he's certainly capable. The guys I just listed prove it.
That's not how Cowboys fans think. If you were drafting for the Cheifs you would've passed on Mahomes because you would've been satisfied with Alex SmithI love how fans think the Cowboys can just go out and get another Mahomes every year. There's a much better chance they end up with a Sam Darnold, Baker Mayfield, Zach Wilson, or Justin Fields.
Like someone else said here: be careful what you wish for.
Haha right but they are ok with that. They think missing the playoffs is better than making the playoffs. You're right, without Dak the Cowboys will stop losing playoff games.
Because they won't be in any.
Eli Manning won 2 rings "carried" by a defense that wasn't the best at ANYTHING in the league other than maybe getting to the quarterback. The guys you listed mean nothing, they were carried, the Cowboys D isn’t carrying anyone. Dak is paid to carry not tag along for the ride that’s why he’s paid elite money. I guess he cut a lot of those qb school classes.
