Dez is one of only 3 WR with 6,000 yards and 60 TD since 2010.Just accept him for what he is, an average WR.
It's really more the short passes (inside 15 yards) where you see the difference with Dak-to-Dez. Romo didn't have any more success on 50/50 balls downfield with Dez than Prescott has had. It's so funny to me that so few people connect the dots of quarterback change and Dez's decline. I had proposed during the offseason to trade Dez and got laughed at... the reason I proposed this: Dez doesn't suit Dak or this offense. Dez runs sloppy routes and very rarely gets separation.
Watch a Romo to Dez video. Romo throws a ton of risky passes in Dez's direction. He threw jump balls, fades, etc. That is not Dak's game. Dak wants a receiver to have separation because those jump balls can easily go the other way.

Bryant 6735 yds 69 td
Nelson 6886 yds 64 td
He's also one of only 3 WR with 40 TD since 2013.
Brown 44
Bryant 42
Nelson 40
Dez has always been very good at run-after-catch and moving the chains, and elite in the red zone, but since 2013 he's been below-average on intermediate-to-deep routes.

Here is another stat for you. Dez failed miserably against the Giants last year. Didn't show up in either game.

Obviously, it's ridiculous to call Dez Bryant an average WR.Percy, you and all your fancy stats were wrong about Romo for years, and you're wrong about Dez, he's nothing special. Elite WR's don't disappear for weeks at a time, he's just another dude. Thankfully, he'll be gone in a year or two and we cna get a real #1 in here. But, I'm glad that we've identified your new pet cat, thought we lost you when Romo got laughed out of the league... Film > stats.
It's ridiculous to call him anything but, he can't be relied on to show up on even a semi-regular basis. But, I know it bothers you when someone doesn't think every Cowboys player is the best player in the league at his position.Obviously, it's ridiculous to call Dez Bryant an average WR.

You could read read this post, and come away thinking I'm anti-Dez.It's ridiculous to call him anything but, he can't be relied on to show up on even a semi-regular basis. But, I know it bothers you when someone doesn't think every Cowboys player is the best player in the league at his position.

Maybe rather than trying to understand my motives, just take in the information.
I'll take 30 points every week.Percy, some fans can't see past disappointment when conflicted with angry and a loss.
If I had to comment, it would be that the offense is dictated by the level of aggression provided by the opponent. Not like a Romo led team, this is another game that when the offense started to just be outplayed, the defense started to just miss tackles. Unfocused with stress and fatigue.

problem with all this is....he is being led by JGI'd be extremely surprised if they cut him or crawford next season. Don't see either happening.
So those 30 points put themselves up on the board? After today it's clear Dak has no chemistry with any of the WRs, he has a little with Butler but that's it.
Bye bye, Dez. You were good ... and then you weren'tAfter today it's clear Dak has no chemistry with any of the WRs, he has a little with Butler but that's it.
