Pollard ran a 4.38 at his Pro Day.Pollard ran a 4.52.
He had food poisoning at the combine and barely finished the forty before throwing up...

Hopefully his parents don't let him drink. That would be against the law.you sound ridiculous. Put the alcohol down
He does not know anything about Jerry Rice.Right! Does he know that Jerry Rice ran a 4.71? Just about every video we see of him he's running away from people. As most know there's a thing called "Game Day Speed" and Jerry had it. The videos I've seen of Lamb he's running away from everyone. Some run a 4.40 at the combine but on game day with pads on, they run slower.
Last time I checked, wide receivers don’t cover other wide receivers
Also, you must have some weird definition of “top WR“ because our three guys 40 times are similar to or better than the *actual* top WR’s in the league
Michael Thomas - 4.57
Julio Jones - 4.39
Deandre Hopkins - 4.57
Davante Adams - 4.56
Odell Beckham - 4.43
Chris Godwin - 4.42
Stefon Diffs - 4.46
Mike Evans - 4.53
Jarvis Landry - 4.77
Amari Cooper - 4.42
Ceedee Lamb - 4.51
Michael Gallup - 4.51

40 yard speed is time speed at the combine, pro days, etc. with the player in shorts and shirt, running on a perfectly straight and level track designed for running. Football is seldom like that. And some guys train hard to run a great 40 time, some don't. I suspect there are many players who, if they run a 4.45 or such at the combine, could have done better if they worked at it, but didn't care to.
But just for grins I looked up the top 40 time guys at the combine ever. They are:
. 4.22 seconds, John Ross, WR (2017)
- 4.24 seconds: Rondel Menedez, WR (1999)
- 4.26 seconds: Jerome Mathis, WR (2005)
- 4.27 seconds: Marquise Goodwin, WR (2013)
- 4.27 seconds: Henry Ruggs III, WR (2020)
- 4.28 seconds: Jacoby Ford, WR (2010)
- 4.28 seconds: J.J. Nelson, WR (2015)
- 4.30 seconds: Darrius Heyward-Bey, WR (2009)
We can take Ruggs off as he's not played yet, but most of the rest haven't had careers any better than slower receivers.
- 4.30 seconds: Yamon Figurs, WR (2007)
If great speed is such a big advantage it would seem more of the above would have had HOF or multiple All Pro careers. Taking a player just because he has exceptional speed is not a good idea...
How many Jerry Rice are there?
I don't understand why fans don't think Cooper is fast. When he gets ahead nobody catches him. On top of that, he is one of the best route runners in the entire league, he makes cuts at full speed.
Why waste your time, so many of you, with this ignorant fool. Ignore him. Only Bob Hayes and Rocket Ismail were true burners and successful with the Boys.
Let's focus on an amazing feat in this draft. How many times in the past 50 years in the NFL draft have the Cowboys been able to draft in the first round the consenus number one player at one position?
I am sure it is only six times and I suggest Lamb is the sixth one. Can you name the other five?
Tick tock, tick tock.. Hint... one was a true burner, but not at WR... tick tock... one was the greatest player ever at his east coast university running a 4.6 40, unthinkable at his position; another was originally a wishbone QB.. one went back to back, Heisman to Super Bowl Champ.
Well
welll
here we go:
1. Ed Too Tall Jones, DE, 1st player in 1974 draft
2. Randy the Manster White, 2nd player in 1975 draft, won every award possible as defensive lineman, except Heisman; ran a 4.6 40
3. Tony Dorsett, RB, 2nd player in 1977 draft, Heisman to Super Bowl Champ.
4. Troy Aikman, best QB, 1st player 1989 draft, won 3 Super Bowls ages 26-29
5. Demarcus Ware, 5th player in first round, best pass rusher
6. 2020 CEEDEE LAMB
RANDY WHITE
Wow, what an awesome dominator. If Cowboys had this talent now, he is good for 4 more wins a year for the team. The Manster, 2nd pick in 1975 draft, out of Univ of Maryland, best DLman in college football
The first player drafted in first round 1974
2nd player in 1977 draft Tony Dorsett
CEEDEE LAMB
Oh, by the way, I was at the draft for numbers 1, 2 and 3. Thrills of a lifetime.
Don't have to tell me that. He's usually wire to wire.
Another thing people don't realize when they get all giddy about 4.3 or 4.2 speed. That's great once you're out in front and have the ball, but a lot of DBs have 4.4 speed and playing 10 yards off you. You're not going to just blow past someone you're one tenth of a second faster than.
at this point it’s obvious he’s trolling now x. Don’t give the troll anymore attention.Jerry Rice and Michael Irvin have a combined 6 Super Bowl wins. Both ran forties that were significantly slower than 4.5 seconds.
The Patriots won the Super Bowl for the 2018 season. Their leading WR Edelman ran a 4.52. Their 2nd leading WR ran a 4.57.
