it's safer on the sidelines when you are getting smacked in the face on the field. Nobody likes a blackeye. I hope coach jerry gives them the rest of the week off to heal their feelings.

You can tell 5 minutes in if the Cowboys D has lost confidence in their ability to stop a team.

Personal foul penaltys are the tell tale/death knell for this unit:

A) They get chippy when getting bullied, because they see the handwriting on the wall. (The early foreshadowing)

B) They cannot sacrifice extra snaps to have any chance. (The death knell)
the very first drive was very telling. they just ran through us like hot knife thru butter.

What makes Sunday's loss odd is we are more healthy at this point in the year than any I can remember in a while. You could halfway explain it if we were missing a couple/few major pieces but we weren't. This is why I've said it's one of those games........it's not like the defense looked great and couldn't get it done or vice vera. They both had a day.......

Every single team has losses like that. It’s a long season. As they say, “that’s why they play the games”. Once the playoffs start, anything can happen.

Dallas is just too much of a finese home team.....when good tough teams punch them in the mouth, they just don't respond.
When the Cowboys get bit, they don't bite back. That's what it seems like to me. For several years now. But hey, if the Cowboys can beat the Dolphins this week, people will think differently.

The Cowboys can't drop this game too. Because it won't matter if we win the division or not. If we can't beat a good team on the road.......

Oh my God, how many "we lost a game so we are trash and the seasons over" threads do we need exactly?

as many as it takes to manipulate the masses into thinking no one should be paid for anything...even if a team wins the super bowl...just keep badgering and badgering and telling them they arent worth it until they work for free.

seems to be the game plan. "players have too much power" "hes not worth his pay" ....its every one of the high paid players faults...not the other low tier pay guys faults...only the high paid players fault regardless if they pull their weight or not.

the league isnt going to go to every player making 4.2 mil....then there is no outlet for hate

there is a mirage going on because none of these message boards make sense. its all hate and low iq attempts to condition and manipulate. existence should be considered more precious than looking at everything as a tool and a means to an end.

Modern Day LT aint it

Bench him
TRADE him before he starts demanding stupid dollars to be that ONE TREAT PONY Quinn has turned him into. Personally, I'm tired of watching this young stud look sooooooooo defeated when he's getting manhandled by those big O-Linemen on all those running plays. Parsons could have been the real deal middle linebacker that the Cowboys needed, but at this point in his young career I believe it's time to move on from him and get a couple of HIGH draft picks for him. The Cowboys need two BIG HOGS in the middle of the D-Line if they want to compete against the better teams in the league and high draft picks will be needed to get this done.

This defense is still kind of "bend-but-don't-break". If this defense isn't getting turnovers or sacks, then they're not all that effective in most games. And you can only really get sacks if you can slow down the run enough to force a 3rd and long, and in many Cowboys games, they don't do that too often...because they can't stop the run. Quinn rarely brings any real pressure in the 1st quarter, and not even much in the first half. It's all safer defenses early on, making sure they keep everything in front of them...very little press coverage until they get to a 3rd down, and in some games, there's simply not enough 3rd downs.

So then it forces Dak and the offense to try to score early and often, so that the opposing team runs less. But if the Cowboys offense is slow out of the gate, and the defense doesn't simply hold the other team to FGs early on, then the Cowboys just seem to get behind and can't catch up. The defense's strengths are minimized right away if the Cowboys don't get a lead.

It's a conundrum, especially for Quinn. I think Quinn is going to have to get more aggressive early in the game, more 9 and 10 in the box to start the game...a COMMITMENT to stopping the run right away, even if it means giving up a big passing play early. The Cowboys Dee needs to set the tone on the first drive, not just play back and play "bend-but-don't-break", and hope for FGs. If we have good CBs, we're going to have to trust them early in the game so that everyone else can be around the LOS plugging up run gaps.

We'll see what they do against Miami, but the first few drives will tell us a lot.
