If I were a Mavs fan, I'd think it'd be a terribly depressing stat.
Pretty relentless in your hate aren't you.

This IS a Mavs playoff thread afterall.

No titles is a bummer, no doubt. Hope that brings you a nice smile.

You won't find a team that hasn't complained about the refs, the mavs are just more well known because of the Miami fiasco. The mavs got the ref advantage in game one. The refs weren't the reason the mavs lost that game, the loss was a combo of turn overs, bad free throw shooting and the great energy by the Blazers and their fans, tough atmosphere to play in for any team. NO one is over looking the blazers, nobody wanted to play them when the matchups were set and the mavs got them and we fully expected everything they had and for it be a dog fight to finish, I still fully expect the mavs to win the series.

Just givin' y'all a little bit of a hard time.

Playoff-time smack talk between Mavs and Spurs fans is a long-time tradition here in the Sports Zone. Doubtful that we'll get to face off against each other this year (it'd be cool if it happened, though) so might as well get as much done while we can.

No hard feelings... we're all still united by the Cowboys! :)

None

As for no Mavs/Spurs matchup this year. I think you're right.....
but Western Conference Finals of Mavs vs OKC will be just fine :p:

Who has done that?

And everyone complains about refs. Even your boy Timmy. They're generally awful.

just cuz you hate timmy doesnt mean he complains more than anyone else. yes, he complains a lot, so does dirk and every other superstar in the league. someone earlier was talking about winning this series in 5 to get more rest for the lakers, i would classify that as looking ahead

Yeah
I see a 7 game series...as I have from day one.

It's hard for any team to beat Portland at the Rose Garden. The Mavs gave it a decent shot, but I think they will have to home court to win this series.

word, but im leaning towards a home team winning every game now, game five is gonna be extremely important as i believe it will be tied 2-2 after game 4

This has been a terrific series so far I fully expect it to go 7. Whoever wins the matchup between Aldridge and Nowitzki will win this series.

agreed, but i think dirk probably wins that matchup, this series comes down to whether the mavs role players step up, if they do they win in 7, if not, blazers in 6

Yes, Mayor Laura Miller was an idiot regarding anything related to sports.

haha, ya she really dropped the ball on cowboys stadium didnt she!

As a former Mavs fan who still watches most of their games but is now somewhat disinterested, I think the Mavs win the next game at Portland. They did lose last night, but it was a very tough game with a good home team simply beating them... There weren't any signs of a collapse as in some past years.

i dont, the same thing was being said about game 2 after game 1 in dallas, people overrate carryover in games during the playoffs, the only time that is really true is if there is an injury that causes bad play (obviously) or if its a heartbreaking loss, like the .4 shot in 04 against the spurs

Yep.

Just watched maybe the second worse loss in Dallas Mavs history.
Just flat out unbelievable, blowing a 23 point second half lead.

If you're a Mavs fan, they sure can tear your heart out at times.

Not surprisingly, Spurs fan beat me to it...just could not wait to rub it in.
Oh well.

That has to be the 2nd biggest choke Ive seen by the Mavs. Still not as bad as when the mavs lost to the lakers a few years back at LA. This goes down to Carlisle's coaching. Not once did he double team Roy in the 4th qtr. Unbelievable. Spurs fans: You cant even protect your home floor to an 8th seed. :laugh1: both of our series are still even.

Typical Spurs fan. Please tell me how that is relevant to this season. I would love to know.

Why root for the Mavs??? It's like watching a movie, the ending is always the same.

Did you read the thread...he said if the Spurs lose to the Grizzlies, at least he has past success to look back on and help lift his spirits a bit....unlike the Mavs. That is the relevance.

BTW, that was a brutal defeat. I stopped watching early in the 3rd when the Mavs started to blow the game away. I thought for sure they had won. I checked the score just as the Spurs game was starting and saw the Mavs actually lost....BTW, I know how Mavs fans feel. A few years ago, the Spurs blew a 17 pt and 20+ pt second half lead in two games in the WCF to the Lakers....very very frustrating. One of those losses was when Fisher tackled Barry and didn't get called for the foul....oh well, we choked those two games away and lost the series. If I am not mistaken, LA went on to lay an egg against the Celtics in the Finals....which made the results of the WCF even more frustrating.

No big deal MC

I feel like Charley Brown trying to kick the football and the Lucy keeps pulling it up.: Funny but sad.
Big picture-wise. they were on the road and not favored to win. It's just the way they lost.
If they hold court, they advance.

BTW, there was serious home-court offciasting, btw. But Mavs fans have no cred to fall back on that stuff anymore. You can only go to that old well but so often and all road teams deal with it.

They just have to regroup and win on Monday or Portland will win this series. What a turn of events.

ya, the officiating wasnt exactly fair in the fourth, i think they got carried away with the crowd/roy and started favoring the home team. this is how i thought it would go tho, game 5 is gonna be awesome! i still think the mavs will win that one, but they better hope this brandon roy stays in portland

as for my spurs, we arent gonna win this game, and i am now very uncertain that we can beat them, their big guys are just so tough for us, and pop refuses to play our best non tim duncan big man because he is a rook, oh well

ya, i still think we would have won that series had manu not broken his ankle, that was probably our last realistic title shot. the main reason i say that is because defense is now atrocious, we have slowly morphed into the phoenix suns, great regular season team, terrible post season team, and its because we rely on the three too much
