Twitter: Dallas Pass Protection

I'm sorry I don't buy into PFF. You are not factoring in this as one of the top Offense in the NFL and you don't do that with below play by the OL.

We are not one of the top passing offenses, though. If you look at yards per game we are bottom quarter.

yes and the fact we run the ball a lot plays a part in that. Philly is the same they are not ranked high in passing.

OK…then use ESPNs provided win rate which is different than PFF. Below average in pass pro.

Cowboys Oline has been #1 the best in the NFL giving up only 15 sacks. That’s the only stat that matters.

I'm sorry I know sacks are not the tell all but they are a big factor, Dallas has given up less sacks than any team in the NFL and I'm expected to believe we are below avg?
As you acknowledged....sacks are terrible way to determine how good or bad a pass protection is.

That's not what matters. If Rush and Dak are getting the ball out faster than they would like then that's a hinderance to the offense.

Dallas is running a balanced offense, Philly is not rated high either. We are not putting up a lot of passing yards but we run the ball more than many other teams. For me the main stat is winning, Dallas has done that with the run and the pass, I don't see either run or pass for OL being an issue.

No but it is a big factor because it is loss of yards and down. Cowboys have given up the least amount of sacks with 94 yard is lost yards. You want to tell me how bad our OL is fine I could use a laugh.

Philly is top 10 in both pass block and run block win rate. They’re ranked waaaaaay higher in pass pro.

I get it, you don’t like stats / metrics that don’t agree with your option. That’s fine.

No I look at results. I look at actually production. ESPN has us as the worst in pass blocking yet the results are not matching up with their stat. 15 sacks and we are the worst in the NFL? I will take it.

You’re looking at results (sacks allowed) that are partially dependent on the QB. It’s a narrow and incredibly flawed way to evaluate but to each their own.

and you believing we are the worst pass protection in the NFL is laughable. I'm sorry I don't think for a second Dallas is the worst pass blocking protection in the NFL. ESPN does

I didn’t say we’re the worst. I said we’re below average and it’s a concern…based off of 2 sources. Keep on laughing though.

ESPN says they are, I don't, I don't think they are even close to being the worst. I will keep on laughing because the results on the field is what I look at things like 3rd down conversion rates, tells me they move the ball, 3rd in redzone tells me they put the ball in the end zone instead of settling for 3, points per game 3rd in the NFL It all starts up from with the OL who have kept Dak upright and opened holes for the RB because in the NFL you are not winning with poor OL.

If Tyron can actually play this season then i would love to see Peters at LG,they will be a formidable duo.

That’s fine, but everything you’re referencing has nothing to do with a tangible stat or metric related to OL pass protection play.

Again - it’s fine if you want to use the eyeball test in your evaluation I just strongly disagree.
