But then the Front Office would have to admit they made a mistake and overpaid a JAG (just as they did with Jarwin today).Just cut Crawford. Anyways why restructure contracts now? This better be good.
Hopefully they kept intact the trapdoor they built into the deal so we can affordably part ways with him years early if he hits the wall like almost every RB does. Why Zeke?
I’m thinking that and maybe dt or Chris HarrisThey are Prob freeing up money to sign Quinn.

If the restructure robs us of that flexibility, that's a stone-cold bad trade-off.
I gather you’re expecting every team to just rush out and spend every possible penny willy nilly?Where have you been the last 3 to 4 years? The Joneses usually go on vacation about this time...sidelines is an understatement.
I gather your expecting a flurry, we'll see. Quinn, Cobb n Lee is about all they'll do before signing guys on the cheap.
Plus don't we need to set aside Draft money? Not really, over 20 players from the 53 man roster hit the open market today... so far we’ve signed Cooper, Jarwin, and tagged Dak. There’s A LOT of holes to fill and not a lot of cap room to fill them.
Dak’s whole franchise tag money (roughly $33m) counts towards the cap this year, so that handicaps us.
Sure, one of the reasons they built the deal the way they did was to have an option to get out relatively cheaply after four years.Yea, and it's interesting in that his base this year was relatively small. For example next year his base is over 9mil and in 2022 it peaks at 12.4mil*.
Seems with this restructure, it will have a minor effect on his future cap hits/potential dead cap hits.
*While still carrying potential dead cap.
Alright here we go!!!
Dak for 33
Coop at 20
Should leave us around 25+ mill before restructuring these two
Snacks?
Why Zeke?
TC creates almost 10M along.

I don't expect them to spend big money on outside FAs that's why I wondered about doing the restructures now. I figured they had enough cap to sign their own without doing restructures at the moment.I gather you’re expecting every team to just rush out and spend every possible penny willy nilly?
So far it’s going like most everyone expected. Tag Dak, sign Cooper, Jones walks.
If you had hoped for the Cowboys, with the three #1 free agents in the league at QB, WR and CB to go out and blow 120 million on someone else’s free agents then you had some really unrealistic expectations.
the free agents we were shopping for this off season were our own and we could only afford two of the three.
we will have to address the other side of the ball in the draft.
It’s just math.
That’s what I don’t get. Are they working on something big? Or just want 30-40 to bank lol
