I tried to tell people last year he was gonna be sick.Trade Hensons sorry butt out of town for seneca NOW!

Get a grip. Seneca just played against the Saints...a team I know well. They have no defense to speak of...although it was good enough to beat Dallas last year.

You have something against Chris Simms? He's got 'pedigree' ..
The worst excuse ever invented to go after somebody. Just because they have the same last name doesn't mean they are the same player.

Eli Manning will disprove the pedigree theory once and for all. He is nothing like Peyton...book it!

Eli still has the presence of a high school kid...and yes, I have seen him up close and personal.

Pedigree? Geez, this isn't a dog show...its football for crying out loud!

Henson is unproven as well, unless you want to count one-half of a game as enough material to fully judge him.

See Vick vs. the Eagles in the playoffs last year.

Atleast he got them to the PLAYOFFS against phili. And yes vick is run first but i think seneca is a better passer then him anyway.always have.yep

How many NFL games has Seneca Wallace started?

schaub has only played in the west coast offense.College and now pros.

It appears that you don't know what you're talking about, son... this long-time Cavs fan is here to testify that UVa runs a traditional pro-style offense under Al Groh... lots of 2 TE sets, which is not a staple of the West Coast offense, featuring Heath Miller, Patrick Estes and Case Luzar in Schaub's time as the starter... there weren't many occasions when they sent out 5 WRs, which is another staple of the West Coast offense...

But don't take my word for it, let's take a look at the stats for the Cavs in Schaub's last 2 seasons... over that time, the Cavs threw the ball 913 times, and they ran it 901... that's right at a 50-50 split, which is what pro coaches all claim they're looking for... clearly, the did NOT substitute the short passing game for the running game... over those last 2 seasons, Schaub averaged 7.2 yards per attempt, which is awfully high for a QB in the West Coast offense...

And even then, the only reason the Cavs threw the ball as much as they did was Schaub was really, really good... this past season, with Schaub off to the NFL, they threw the ball 284 times, ran it 550 times... that's nearly 2 rushes for every pass...

Al Groh came from the pro ranks, and ever since he got to Charlottesville, the Cavs have run a traditional, pro-style offense... that's part of the reason Matt hasn't had that big an adjustment to the NFL game, he got solid schooling while he was in college...

Josh McCown has game playing experience and I think he's a decent QB ... Chris Simms has the potential to be just like Bledsoe was in his prime ... or even his father Phil Simms ... not to mention that Parcells would probably love to work with Simms ... now, you can say he has pedigree and not be talking out of your arse - because he does ... in every sense of the word ...

This is something I've thought about in the past ... but recenly thought about it because a poster "noshame" brought it up on another board as a hypothetical situation ... but remember the key word is "hypothetical" ... I'll even spell it real slow if you'd like ... no reason to get your panties in a bunch over it though ... this does not mean you can't still be the Henson in 2005 chairman ...

Chris Simms has potential? I thought that was what you bashed Henson for having.

I don't want to see Simms choking away games in Dallas.

not surprising from someone who thinks seneca wallace is "the answer"

but as a reminder, Henson did have a good preseason last yr

David

Well, actually he threw a few too many interceptions to qualify as "good", but he wasn't terrible either... here's his stats line for last year's preseason games:

33 attempts 21 completions 63.7% 216 yards 6.5 yards per attempt
2 TDs 3 ints 3 sacks 57.1 quarterback rating

Again, but for those 3 ints, his QBR would have been significantly higher... but that 6.5 YPA stat shows that he wasn't really looking downfield too much...

However, if he cut down on that int number, I'd take those stats for a single game performance, game in and game out... of course, those numbers weren't put up against first team defenses, for the most part, but he also wasn't playing with the first string offense...

Yep. You didn't spell it right, but it's a word. Stick "lous" where "las" is, and you're all set.

when did henson have a good preseason game?can i see some proof?if not **** ok?

Well, I just posted his stats for last preseason, and they really aren't that bad, except he threw 3 ints in 33 attempts...

But mostly, I'm posting to tell you how profoundly ignorant it is for you to tell anybody to **** unless they have some "proof", particularly not when you've made a number of completely bogus claims-- like how Matt Schaub played in a West Coast offense-- without offering any proof whatsoever...

It appears that you like running your mouth without having the benefit of any proof of your assertions, so until and unless you meet the same standards you demand of others, perhaps it's YOU who should ****...

From where I sit, you're just witless Seneca groupie... and the truth of the matter is, Henson had a higher completion percentage last preseason, in fact it was more than 10 percentage points higher (63.6 to 53.2), a higher yards per attempt average (6.5 to 5.7), and he threw for more TDs (2 to 1, in spite of throwing 44 fewer passes)...

So looking at the FACTS, it's hard to fathom how you could view Seneca Wallace as a significant upgrade over Drew Henson...

Atlanta has already publicly stated that they rebuffed trade overtures for Schaub in the offseason. They expect Vick to miss time due to injury and want a solid backup. Scratch that.

Volek is probably Tennessee's next QB. McNair is breaking down.

The only guy that might be available after this offseason that is younger with some upside that I have found is Rohan Davey. I've heard good things and bad things about him, so I imagine he would be a bit of a project as well.

No doubt Seneca Wallace is a phenomenal athlete, but he is still in the project stage as well.

Ooops, I misread the NFL.com stats for Henson's preseason last year... at least, the sections about TDs and ints... turns out he threw 0 TDs, and only had 2 ints...

However, all the other numbers are correct...

And as I noted, stilltheguru, that means he completed a significantly higher percentage of his passes than Seneca Wallace did, and had a significantly higher yards per attempt average (indicating he was looking downfield more than Seneca, whose YPA number clearly suggests he was dumping the ball off a LOT)...

Anyway, my bad on the int and TD numbers... I do try to keep the numbers accurate, which is the reason for this retraction...

I am LOL at those of you who think that preseason proves anything about a quarterback...

The prosecution rests its case on one simple stat:

2 preseasons ago, the highest rated preseason QB in the entire league was one Lavonya Quintelle Carter...

So, using stilltheguru's logic, that means we should be knockin' down Quincy's door about now, right?? :D

Im finished listening to the silly comments.

Translation-- "my mind's made up, don't bother confusing me with a lot of facts"...

Hey, maybe if you asked him real nice, Seneca would let you take him out for dinner and a movie... don't forget to bring flowers...

NO WAY I mean the reporters told us they looked bad in practice! (PRACTICE?)

Therefore we must immediately entertain trades for any guy (under 30) who has thrown a pass in the past 3 years. Seriously I mean we need to make sure the clipboard is in good hands :D :whip: :abuseme:

Hey, let's not go minimizing the importance of quarterback depth...

The Bears are about to learn that lesson the HARD way; Rex Grossman broke his ankle tonight, which means Da Bears are lookin' at the blonde cyclopean god as their starter for the next 3-4 months...

Which means Da Bears need to buy their lubricant in 55 gallon drums, because they're SCREWED...
