Mo is my favorite athlete of all time. Finally getting around to watching the retirement ceremony.

I sent him a fan letter as a kid and he sent me back a huge package of personally autographed stuff. Class act.

Was surprised to see that Joe Nieuwendyk wasnt there.

I grew to hate him for how he treated Mike.

The seats at the games keep getting emptier and emptier. So sad.

I dont even recognize this team anymore. I was young when the Stars moved to Dallas and I loved them immediately. I followed them after I moved, I started going to Hawks games in 02 and they have taken over my hockey passion. Now the Stars are just guys in green shirts, nothing about them reminds me of when I was a MASSIVE fan.

Different arena, different logo, strange jerseys.

I would love to be a Stars fan again.

This new Stars team is a lot of fun to watch. Very young team, one of the fastest teams in the league, and a lot of offensive firepower. You should definitely start to follow them. I moved close to Chicago and it only made me hate a team I never used to hate hahaha.

I was able to go to the game last night, and watch Modano's jersey number retirement. It was pretty cool to witness, and was great to see some of Stars, both past and present, from the other local teams.
Emmitt Smith even had a video on the jumbo tron congratulating Mike on having his number retired.

I beg to differ. This Stars franchise has more hope for the future than any of the past Stars teams in years. Good head coach, good GM, very good young talent in Jamie Benn, Seguin, Valerie N, and an established goalie like Lehtonen. Last year was IMO the worst year the Stars have ever had and it all turned around after they hired Jim Nill as GM and Lindy Ruff as coach. This team is one of the youngest, fastest and hardest hitting teams in the NHL. If there was a time to jump back on ship, it would be now.

Joe was the GM and forced him out, he had to play for Detoilet for a season.

Mike deserved better and Joe put this franchise even further down the drain.

I did not know that. I knew Modano played for the Wings though. That's not such a bad team for sure but I wouldn't want to live there either.
