With the Hardy signing sinking in there is still a lot of work to be done by Jones. I still see 4 starting positions open: rb,cb,dt and mlb.

Good thing free agency is only 9 days old.

The draft: at 27 I am looking for starter at CB or DT or Gurley if he falls. A Marcus Peters selection looks awful good with our new thug defense. Follow that up with RB selection in 2nd round.

Resign McClain. Let's make it another 1 year deal.

It's always nice to add talent, but they look good with the current roster.

CB is the biggest concern to me.

Brent/Bishop with a full TC can be an upgrade over Hayden. Several guys with upside behind them.

They have enough talent for a RB by committee, but I'm sure a draft pick will be added.

LB is deeper than last year. Lee and Hitchens with multiple guys added that have starting experience. Brinkley, Gachkar, Rivers and Watson.

You don't have to tell me. Fisher indicated $ was the holdup for signing McClain. I think he'll go to any team willing to a chance and pay him.

Oh, I don't doubt he'll go where the money is. I just don't think he's going to get both money and security in this next contract. He deserves a good payday for next year, wherever he gets it. He just cannot be relied on to get more than a well-paid trial someplace.

I hope it's in Dallas, but I won't really shed a tear if it's in Green Bay or whatever. Mostly I want to see him tattoo Demarco Murray next year the two times we play him.

Ugh, please don't go to Greenbay.

I know, right? They were reportedly interested in him. But it was a very tenuous rumor.

SF makes a lot of sense for him now, though. They gotta do something to staunch the bleeding in that LB corps, and he's one of the better defenders left on the market. Maybe he doesn't want to go back to the Bay Area, though, after his time in Oakland. Probably not at all, now that I come to think about it.

I still think they need a linebacker and I would use the draft instead of McClain to fill it. Any one of Perryman, McKinney, Anthony or Jake Ryan would be ideal as all have versatility. I love Dawson's game as well. but hate the attitude.
Corner also needs upgrading and thankfully this draft has tons of options.

Wow, him on the 9ers would actually be scary. Bowman and McClain as your two ILBs.

Look, so many here are happy with Hardy. Me, I'm not counting on him because 1.) he may be suspended for awhile and 2.) he has missed a year. How will he recover.

Get another DE in the draft or bring back Spencer too.

As we search for difference maker starters, anyone interested in trying to sign Tashaun Gipson and giving up a 2nd to do so?

Will only be 25 this year and a pro bowler.

Also a Dallas native.

CB- Carr, OScan, Claiborne, Patmon , White
FS- Wilcox
MLB- Lee, Hitchens, Brinkley
RB- Draft pick, RWilliams, Randle , Run DMC
1T- Brent, Bishop, McClain, Draft pick

These aren't starters you are looking for. They are depth, except for RB.

He's only 26. Might have some rust to knock of but I all you have to do is look at the guy, he sure didn't miss any gym time.

I don't see Scandrick as starting CB because his real value is in slot. The only remaining FA CBs worth a look are Patrick Robinson (who is visiting Pitts) or gulp...Terrence Newman. Thats why I think your going to need to throw 1st rounder at that position.

Safety - I think we have to live with Wilcox and Church. Wilcox just looks like a player who is ready to take next step. If he doesn't this year I am moving on.

DT - I like Bishop and Brent but I don't see either as starter. Atleast not yet. Dallas needs to get big and athletic here maybe Jordan Phillips if he drops into 2nd round.

RB - Gurley is only guy worthy of 1st round pick. If he is off the board and there has been run on CB....Dallas should trade back to 2nd round and take RB they like best.

MLB - I am not as concerned at this position because Dallas currently has two players who can play it (Lee & Hitchens) but I really don't want to shorten Lee career anymore. I am ok with Hitchens as my starting MLB and pray like heck the guy from San Diego can be serviceable.

All in all, I think Dallas needs more draft picks and higher slot in draft :)

Scandrick and Carr are starting CB and I think we have a starting NB somewhere on the team. The other 3 positions I agree with you on.

DT: Sign Mosley draft Bennett in the 2nd let them battle it out for first string
RB: Gurley or Gordon, 1 will fall, if not trade back and get Coleman (he won't last until 59)
NB: Look at middle round guys and on this team. I personally like Kevin White out of TCU (who actually owned the more popular Kevin White)
MLB: Just get McClain.

People need to start getting their heads out of the CBS player rankings. Coleman will be a first round pick and we will be lucky to land him at 27.

When was the last time 3 RBs went in the first round?

I know there were like 5 or 6 in 2008...

Speaking of the 2008 draft, here's an interesting factoid: we signed two of the top 10 picks from that draft the past week. Kind of ironically, our own two first round picks in that draft are long gone (though at least Mike Jenkins is still in the league)
