Clabo and Moore and I will declare it the best off season in a decade. The thing is, failing to address the line in the draft is why we have to spend valued cap money on Free Agents. Granted Clabo and Moore are at least established players that have a history of being successful. Livings and Bernardo were garbage before they got here and are garbage now. Jerry think if he pays a guy like a star they will turn into one. Bernardo is a practice squad player at best.

If they use our FA money on Fisher or Clabo, I'll jump in the air.

If they use it on one of those two and Moore, I'll do cartwheels.

I have no problem with signing a few establish vets for the line. Right now, we're young at LT, young at C and possibly young at RG and possibly RT.

I like youth movements, but there's something to be said about having a couple of players who know how to get it done and can pass that on to the younger guys.

Drew Smith, RB, Albany
Brandon Kaufman, WR, Eastern Washington
Ryan Turnley, C, Pittsburgh
Keith Pugh, LB, Howard
Jeff Tuel, QB, Washington State
Da’rick Rogers, WR, Tennessee Tech
Jordan Dangerfield, FS, Towson
Nickell Robey, CB, USC
Zach Chibane, OG, Syracuse
Jumal Rolle, CB, Catawba
Kendall Gaskins, RB/FB, Richmond
Vernon Kearney, CB, Lane

Those are impressive, at least to me.

Yes, it is always impressive to get guys who went undrafted.

The truth is that rarely are the people who went undrafted that make the "best UDFA" lists that come out right after the draft the ones who succeed.

This stuff is a total crapshoot.

Would rather have Winston just for the fact that he's just as good but he's 2 years younger.

I don't want to have to replace one of them any time soon due to age.

Of course if CLabo is asking for a lot less money, by all means, sign him up.

I think one of the places we failed miserably in the past few years was not getting a vet on a one year deal for the line. Brian Waters and Dan Koppen come to mind. I think right now that tackle is where we need that guy. I am intrigued by what Parnell might become but I don't know that we have the window of time necessary to let him learn as we go. Realistically, we should be happy if he can lock down the swing tackle job for a while. Expecting him to go from never having played OT in college to being a starter in the NFL is a long shot proposition (please don't say "Mark Tuinei" - just because one guy did it doesn't mean that it is common or likely)

Per post 194 and the team roster

OL 14
TE 6
WR 12
RB 5
FB 1
QB 4
DE 0
D/NT 10 (Excluded Brent)
LB 15 (Ware and Spencer are still here)
CB 9
S 8
LS 2
P/K 2
Total 88

We will need 2 more K/P for practice purposes.

Can we have 97 until we sign our draft choices? We have 2 spots open or 9.

I am with those who want to bring in a veteran FA on the offensive line.

Whole draft is a crapshoot, but I am talking about judging UDFAs in itself not comparing it to 1st rounders.

That's what it's all about, getting the numbers to line up to have enough for practice/preseason purposes.

You certainly seem objective.

3 straight losing season at UT, 5 of six losing season in college coaching career, career losing record.

I am likely not objective, but the facts against my position are nothing if not scarce

Rose Hill, KS native and TCU product Blaize Foltz is in talks w/ Dallas Cowboys to sign as undrafted FA, says source involved in talks

He's now with the Saints.

I'm not too excited about the UDFA pick ups other than McGee and Hamilton. I use to like 5-6-7 of their guys. But this year is different.
