Dallas vs. Golden State...

You're right, Cuban IS the leadership. I mean, when they call timeouts, he makes all the speeches to the team, he draws up the plays, AND he's the coach!

Are you kidding me about Avery? He's had so few seasons as the Mavs HC, so you can't really generalize anything.
Thank You!!

Whoa, did you guys hear about Richardson?

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=aw-warriorsmavs050207&prov=yhoo&type=lgns

And so started a blur of 15 straight Dallas points to end Game 5, pulling the Mavericks within 3-2 of the Warriors in the best-of-seven series. Nowitzki's rush of three-pointers and free throws set into motion an unraveling of Golden State in those final minutes that included nine straight missed shots, Jackson getting ejected and Jason Richardson inviting an NBA security probe into a possible pushing incident with a courtside fan late in the game....

Perhaps, but commissioner David Stern may first have to make a decision on Richardson's availability for Game 6. After Richardson's momentum carried him out of bounds late in the game, he found himself in the lap of a Dallas fan. They were briefly entangled, witnesses said, and Mavericks and NBA security interviewed the fan later for his side of the exchange.

What team and league sources were told, according to two high-ranking league officials, was that Richardson said, "Push me again, (expletive), and I'll beat your ***." NBA security's Dwayne Bishop was on the telephone with the fan late Tuesday night in the arena dining room, apparently reaching the man after he had talked to Mavericks security. At the least, Richardson probably bought himself a fine.

"I can't remember (what he said) in the heat of the moment," Richardson said of the fan. "All I know is that I pushed him back, trying to see who he was. But it's over."

Pretty interesting to read about the incident.

I make no assumptions about it. But I do know that with fans being able to sit right on top of the players and the intensity to which these games get, that it's highly possible the fan took a cheap shot and Richardson retaliated.

One thing I like about high school games is that many times, the players benches and the scorers table are on the opposite side of the stands. When I ref in small gyms, fans can get real abusive even to the little kids.

sorry dallas....this is just EMBARRASSING for you.

:lmao2:

not really i'll just adopt the "we" win "they" lose mentality

that was probably the weakest mavs game ive seen since like 2001 in terms of the whole situation. dirk 8 points?. .. now its up to the cowboys to bring a championship

hopefully cowboys and spurs win it all this year! and maybe UT will come out of nowhere and win another national championship!

Dirk is as big a choke artist as McNabb ..... that was just embarrassing ....

:lmao: WOW 4-2 finishing of the Mavericks by the Warriors was amazing. Talk about making NBA history, a number 8 seed taking down a number 1!

The Mavs looked like a team just trying not to get closed out a home. Blowout for the Warriors in game 6.
It was easy to see what was coming if you didn't care who won this series.

How were they suppose to look...like a team that wanted to get closed out?

- Mike G.
They were supposed to look like a team that wanted to win the series, they didn't.

Doesn't mean it was right. Typically, it's not "over the back" (not an actual foul, BTW) if the guy is taller than somebody else and reaches over him to get the rebound. It's a foul if he goes through the player to try to get the rebound. And it shouldn't matter about the height of the players.
I'm not saying it was right by any means, I've been a Rockets fan since they moved to Houston (although not much of a BB fan since Hakeem left) so it used to drive me insane watching the refs screw Ralph.

I am a huge NBA fan and watch all teams play. But, the ironic thing here is everyone is talking about the Mavs giving up, needing changes etc. Give credit were credit is due. The Warriors whipped them in every facet of the game. It was not because the Mavs were not hungry. They knew going in that GS had beaten then 3 times in the regular season and had the chip on there shoulder from last years Championship. The Warriors are very underrated and people just now realize the talent this team has. They won 16 of there final 21 games (.761%), once Baron Davis came back from injury. They made a big mid season trade and now that everyone is somewhat healthy and the chemistry has developed, they flat out can play ball. I by no means think they can get past San Antonio, but I think they have a strong shot at Houston or Utah.

The Mavs made plenty of dumb moves (Avery going "small ball" in game one) and indecisions (Dirk) but the Warriors proved they are a good team. Dallas played one of their worst stretches of the season - and you have to give a lot of credit for that to Don Nelson, the Golden State Warriors, and their incredible fans.
