we are playing the Commanders and the lions....sure they are 2-0 but when is the last time that these teams were even serious contenders. there are so many teams every year that start off 2-0 and end up missing the playoffs by 4 or 5 games. im thinking we beat both teams by 2 td's or more....the 49'rs are much better then either of them...i mean for god sake we are playing against rex grossman.....

Year before last. Seems like it goes every other year we are contenders. Dallas was expected by many to be in the SB last year.

Expected and reality are two very different things. I expected I'd be rich by this time in my life.

The Cowboys have been over hyped for many years now.

With all the injuries I would be happy with 2-2 at this point.

Over hyped or underachievers? We always had the talent. Others see it too. The SB predictions weren't too far fetched. It's just that the team did not play to it's talent level.

Umm. The Lions are pretty good and we are injured all to hell.

The Commanders are bottom feeders, and we'll beat them at home. The Lions are another story.

Even if the Commanders were 0-2 and expected to go 2-14, I in no way would doubt that one of those two wins could be the Cowboys. NFC East divisional games are almost always tough.

Well, if a team can't play to it's so called potential year after year I'd call that over hyped.

I should mention I'm a Commanders fan. And yes the Commanders have had teams that were over hyped simply because of how some things looked on paper.

This current Commanders team isn't a fantasy players dream but it's a good team and plays like a team. Quite a few up and coming young players and it shows. You can definitely see growing pains.

If the Cowboys think like the poster that this game is a gimme because the it's the Commanders the Cowboys are in trouble.

You guys could certainly win but it ain't going to be a gimme. The reality is the teams match up pretty well.

The Cowboys are in trouble because they face a discpicable enemy coming to town.

And the Cowboys are not playing good football. Put in the fact that there is no running game, Defense is suspect at time. Possibly 3 rooks on the OL. Starting QB hurtin. possibly no 1 string WR's playing?

Any Cowboys poster in here that thinks that Dallas just rolls is higher than Charlie Sheen on a good night.

I can thankfully guarantee you that the team itself will not be thinking like the OP. On any given Sunday (or Monday), any team can beat any other team if the breaks shake out just right. And I'll say this, especially with the injuries the Cowboys have, I'm not looking at Monday's game as a sure win. I hope we win. I think we'll win. I don't think it'll be easy (for either team).

Disrespecting your opponent is the kiss of death in the NFL.

The Commanders and especially the Lions would pose a threat to almost any team in the NFL right now....let alone one as decimated as ours is right now.

If you told me to take 2-2 right now, I would (very grudgingly) accept.
I'm hoping for 3-1 though.

Of course, but that win would most likely be in WAS. We should hold serve here in our home opener.

We'd better, or our season could be in trouble. The next two teams coming up are much better than the Sk*ns.

No need to. :D

Funny. You guys "over hype" your team every pre-season and you want to call another team over hyped.

I think if the Cowboys win it will be due to turnovers and the play of Grossman.

Grossman has done well so far this year but there have been several of the usual brain dead Grossman passes which should have been sure interceptions by opposing teams. I assume there will be several of those again on Monday and if the Cowboys take advantage they have a good shot.
Commanders have had success moving the ball a lot but it's still a work in progress (on offense especially) and we have been bad in the red zone.

On the Commanders side it will be pressure, pressure, pressure with as much hits on Romo as possible. Stupid thing for Hall to say but every team would be aiming to put the hurt on Romo's ribs. Shouldn't come out and say it though.

If Bryant and Austin don't play I think you guys will really need to get the run game going because the Commanders can put up solid pressure this year.

I actually think Romo's biggest problem will be stamina if he has to run around a bunch.

My prediction is that it will be a low scoring game.

For one I'm not "You guys", I'm "one dude" and I haven't over hyped the Commanders.

I was commenting on a poster who said "Dallas was expected by many to be in the SB last year."

I thought that was over hyped. I also said the Commanders have been over hyped many times based on a few splashy off season pickups.

With all of our current injuries, this is not a guaranteed win. Not even close. We're going to have to play exceptionally well to win.
