Sophie Cunningham

It’s the gift and curse of the popularity WNBA GOT WHEN Angela and Caitlin came. It’s just gotten so messy I mean messy was always there but now it’s the fans who are messy lol. Sophie eggs it on she likes the villain role especially since everyone loves a villain and a nice looking villain lol. She makes it fun. But the price that comes with that is players like Bonner are getting death threats…. Ugly part of the sport.
 
I don’t understand what good Cunningham is doing if Clark is still being used as a Piñata at a picnic ? As far as death threats people need to get a life . Punches to a players throat as well should get the soccer “ red card “ treatment . One game suspension followed by progressively worst penalties .


Clark is gate receipts TV $$ I’m not sure why the WNBA needs the LAPD gang intervention unit ? Ladies your going to drive the cash cow straight into the arms of the Euro Leagues .

Caitlin is white and straight
that is a lot of it
a lot also is the jealousy of how much attention she got coming in
but overall its the simple fact that too many in the WNBA act like spiteful six year olds instead of adults
and the so called Commissioner is arguably the only one worse the Goofsmell

You’ve about covered it I would say . The double sin of being “ white & straight “ merits a beatdown in a league crying about player salaries . Well ladies no one wants to see one of the leagues best getting crushed by the “ bouncers “ night after night .

If the Euro leagues offer the cha Ching $$ Clark should book passage on the next freighter outta town seee ya bye .
 
And what do you know the Dallas franchise has been saved by the leagues next Sue Bird . Paige Bueckers and yes her GF Azzi Fudd both outta Connecticut that hoops college factory have transformed one of the leagues worst teams into a winner .

Good for Dallas . Paige a gate attraction in her own right as well as Fudd , good sound players no fisticuffs just hoops .

Both her and Caitlin are fighting a losing battle. The WNBA isn't a business. Its about "opportunity" for the marginalized communities. Thats practically a recent quote from The Indiana Fever head coach. These teams don't make money. They are charities and serve mostly as write-offs for owners to offset income. That said, its estimated that Caitlin Clark is responsible for 25% of league revenue all by herself. The way she is being treated by refs, coaches, and other wnba players is an embarrasment. They are killing their golden goose.

I hope she leaves and goes to Europe. I hope sophie gets an OF page. :laugh:

"Victim" is the first thing I thought of when I read your post. It's what you "they called a penalty against us so they're biased" whiners do elsewhere. LCD at its finest. Funny how those who complained about others using that "card" now have it front and center of their arsenal.

To address the point, absolutely people are jealous of Clark and the hype she got. The league's been in existence for how long, and now here comes this college kid to be the "savior?" Of course other professionals are going to be miffed at that the same way I'm sure some feel about Caleb Downs as some savior here. Even fans have joined in the snark on that.

Now if Clark came in and was best player in the league, hey no one can speak against her. But she hasn't been completely. This A'ja Wilson has her by more than 4 points per game and has led the league 3 years running now, yet no one knows her. An underrated repeat league scoring champion is just unusual.

As for race, sure it has something to do with it as well. Ever hear of White Savior Complex? Doubtful but look it up and if you've been subjected to it, then you know why there could be animosity to a much heralded player who's not tops in your league yet but also seen as the savior and white. But you clearly haven't so you can dismiss it. If it hasn't been your experience then what can you add to the conversation except what's convenient for you? That's what we call a willful one-sided discussion but this is CowboysZone so that never stopped anyone. Lol.

And as for the straight thing, please. Clark is the first straight player in that league ever? You "victim" me once, shame on you. You "victim" me twice, it's who you are. I just re-wrote that proverb.
 
As for the OP, I thought what Sophie Cunningham did was hilarious and hope she cleans up commercially from it. I've seen actual cities use it in their social media about cars who block bus lanes being watched. This is how "going viral" can be a gift that keeps on giving.

but you absolutely have not paid any real attention to the WNBA at all or you would be silent

No other player in the league is being treated like Clark

I compare Sophie to Lindsey Vonn in her prime. SI Swimsuit model hot. Sophie at 6'2 is a true Amazon. I like her alot better than the Cavinder twins or whatever LSU gymnastic is in these days. They all kind of remind of Temu versions of Sydney Sweeney's Euphoria character

I literally quoted you stats about the WNBA. Which was I wrong about?

I also gave you several reasons why there might be animosity towards Clark including the above versus just your victim stance. You care to address those? Pretty lengthy post you tried to just run past. That's YOUR dance you do to dismiss/ignore what's presented to you so you don't have to discuss it. You don't get to demand answers to distraction questions when you don't address what's been put to you in the first place.
 
I still can’t get over how utterly horrible the quality of play is…literally seen 5A high school boys basketball games of higher quality and consistency…. and then, also despite the stands being nearly empty unless Caitlin is playing, they are whining about not making enough money?
Angel Reese is an all star in your world? She wouldn’t make most boys’ HS squads.
