Dallas will be ok if they stick with run

Book worthy. The last thing I want the team to do is approach this with the mentality of, "Zeke is out and now it's all on Dak's shoulders." We've got some good backup RBs. The backup situation for Zeke is way better than any backup situation Emmitt Smith ever had. Smith was backed up by RBs like Curvin Richards, Lincoln Coleman, and Hambrick (forget his first name). Morris and McFadden are starting quality or near starting quality running backs, and Smith is showing good promise too. This team should still be able to run.
Exactly

Morris has looked good, they just need to give him plenty of carries.
Mix in some Smith, and mcf.
Morris has the longest td run for the year on just a few carries.
Dallas just needs to stay balanced, don't start passing too much.
I think Morris is dying to play
and show what he can do.
Same for McF, and Smith.

I agree. Stick to the script. Let Morris get into a rhythm. Mix in Smith or DMC as needed. Even if it's only 20 carries 75-85 yards(Morris), mission accomplished.

If anything, a loss in this game will be because we decide to pass more and could not handle the shift in identity. That is what concerns me the most.

The Falcons have not been very strong defending the run and have given up big games against teams who really don't have great running attacks like NE and Miami.

Agreed....if they maintain their identity, they will be fine, maybe not AS productive, but still will be fine.....this team loses when the coaching staff thinks that they either don't need to adjust at half-time or they try to get cutesy to "trick" the other team...the real problem is that we have that red-headed buffoon in charge, clapping for every play, regardless of the situation....

if nothing else, this game will give us something to watch (what will they do? who gets the carries in the 3-headed attack? will dez play and be effective? how will Dak play without Zeke there?)

As usual the game is won or lost in the trenches. The running back is of secondary importance, except now and then where 8 yard scampers might have been 20, 30 yards. But as far as being serviceable as part of the effort, Dallas is fine at rb.Open the lanes and they will go.

I hope the first down runs will be ok, Dallas needs to stay out of those 3rd and longs. That is what concerns me more than losing Zeke because he was great in that regard.
Spot on.

In a nutshell this is it for this team going forward.

People are assuming there will be no running game without Zeke. That's disrespectful to a pretty productive RB like Alfred Morris.

If he's still got it they'll be fine. If not, problems.
Well said, my thoughts exactly. Though last season it did feel like there was a big drop off in our production when Morris came in, I think he's been respectable this season spelling Zeke. I have no stats to back this up, just a feeling.

I will be rooting for Morris today I hope he has a big game that's what I'm hoping for plus I want Dallas to win so the Eagles game will be a big game.

That's the big question. If he's still got it? Can't get away from the running game early.

As others have said, the real problem is 3rd (and 4th) and 1. This offense is predicated upon getting to 3rd and short and converting. Elliott can get hit at the line of scrimmage and still grind out that yard. Can Morris? Can DMC?

No I don’t believe they can. But from what I’ve seen in preseason, I truly believe Smith can. He runs very aggressively and with an attitude. He also has some weight to him.

Well said, but let me add to that. I hope we stick to what’s been successful and not get too cute. I’m just not positive that we will. It seems our coaching staff tries to get cute, which is ok but they seem to always do it at the wrong time.

First half at Atlanta:

Morris gained 8 yards on 6 carries,
Smith had one carry for no yards,
DMC didn't have a carry.

Chaz Green has been a turnstile filling in for Smith, but we kinda miss Zeke.

Not sure Zeke woud have made much difference running into a wall of dlinemen.

If we stick with the run in the second half, we are in trouble.

Well, it looks like they abandoned the run after about 1 quarter. Might not be a bad idea for the coaching staff to pull their heads out if their butts and give Smith more than 1 carry in a half
