Bob Sturm put up an enlightening article over at The Athletic, https://***BLOCKED***/ (it's a pay site, but worth it!)…

And he points out the first five opponents Dallas is facing this season are all having offensive line issues, which could become a great opportunity for the much improved Cowboy front 7.

Just something to think about.

Well, its an opportunity. Whether or not its an advantage, we'll have to wait and see.

Not to be negative Nancy here, but this is what happened in years past. Banged up secondary? We run and they eliminate the passing game. Backup QB? Don’t blitz and allow them all day.

But this line is viscous and hungry. They will feast!

But wouldn’t they have an advantage as well with our issues?

Seems like any team we are playing could say the same about us with Frederick likely out and Irving facing a suspension.

The Cowboy OL, even without Frederick is still arguably the class of the NFL.

Irving? He plays on the DL and the DL has looked great so far, as has the entire front 7.

I'm counting on it for game one. The Panthers are having issues all across their line.

Part of me wants to sign Jahri Evans just so Carolina can't.

What does Irving have to do with it?

I posted several times our schedule is not as bad as some think it is.
If these teams still have OL issues. And our D is really what they look from PS games.

@ Carolina, and they may have a few players missing on D also. Winnable
NYG, pundits tout them as a favorite every year. Does anyone think they will have improved that much from last year by game 2 this year.
@ Seattle, they aren't what they used to be, not even close
Detroit, can be tough, but can be easy as well
@ Houston, touted as being great every year, but yet nothing. Still can be tough game but not scared

Jacksonville, @ Washington, Tennessee, not scared of these teams either.

@ Phill, @ Atlanta, now this is the toughest part of the schedule

then 3 home games
Washington, N.O., Philly, with Philly possibly being the toughest game, NO maybe, but by this time we will know how teams will be

@ Indy, TB, @ NYG, these don't scare me either

The schedule is actually laid out pretty decent. Hate finishing on the road, again. And 2 of the last 3 on the road, but we have 3 home games prior to that.

You never know until you know. Seasons have to play out.

2016 was supposed to be a tough schedule, but it turned out to be easy. Often, it's the other way.

As Bob Sturm pointed out the Houston Oline is a mess also.

any advantage is offset by the current head coach.

It's a definite advantage, some are already clamoring the season is off with Fredrick likely out for a while. Carolina has 4 offensive lineman hurt, San Diego already lost 2 likely pro bowlers, we are healthier than the average team at the moment, nothing new, but we got our excuses ready.

Then there is no excuse for not getting off to a good start this year.

Jacksonville may end up being a bad matchup for us. May end up being the best defense we face all year long, and couid force us to pass to win the game.

That game will be an interesting matchup. If we throttle them, we could be for real.

Still don't know how we won so many games ion 2016.....almost every thread someone has to bash coaches...get an original thought!

I agree. Dallas in 2016 was not given a snowballs chance in hell of winning. Romo had gone down and a rookie 4th rd pick would take over. People here claimed it was a 5 win season and those in the media about the same yet they exceeded expectation. I think time is running out on Garrett but I also do not think he is clueless as his critics here love to claim.

We're terrible at home though. I'm all for the road games.
