I stopped reading when he said another troll post. And I agreed with him for once.
Anything after that was a waste of my time.
:lmao:

I may go back and read it at some point. But right now, War and Peace is shorter to read, and has more substance. :muttley:

Feels like everyone’s bullish on the skins, but where are they getting this top ten qb from?

and that defensive front is just going to get more expensive. I’m not extra worried about them.

The giants with Saquon back and say Chase could actually be a bit of a nightmare.

Thank you!!! Been saying this.

They have to pay Scherff, Payne, Allen, Sweat and a few others. Not to mention Young’s massive deal in a few seasons.

They are dominant now because they entire squad is on rookie deals.

And I was Dak's biggest fan over the fragile breakdown of Romo.
What do it prove, homie!
...
Um got those brazilian night crawlers, rough chap ...?
No they don’t work well in our waters. Croakers, mullet, live shrimp and crab are the baits of choice down here.

A.) We are a middle of the pack team, with middle of the pack players, and horrendous coaches
If the Cowboys are such a middle of the pack team, why were so many media types predicting the Cowboys for the super bowl just 6 months ago?

Give them a regular off season and less than historic level injuries and you will be surprised.

Don't forget, they did finish the season 3-1 despite being a very broken team.

The one thing that Jerry is fully hands on with...selecting head coaches....is a complete mess.

We end up with a yes man who ends up being undermined, which makes that job even harder.

He hired MM because he is able to coach the team through a SB because he has done it.....not realizing his own team isn't anywhere near as close as he thinks.

So, we will remain a team that beats up on teams that aren't ready to win yet, and lose to the better ones...and remain in mediocrity until a real coach is hired and Jerry steps away and shuts his mouth.

Don't hold your breath.

You are a habitual hater of anything Cowboys. Every day you post some kind of hate on a player or the FO. Do you actually believe that anyone will take you seriously?

You're a blind homer. In your world, nothing is wrong with the Cowboys. How many people do you think take you seriously?

I'll wait and see how things play out and root for the team to win! Not make predictions about a SB appearance or lack thereof before even the draft and free agency.

I know what many of you are going to say. Another troll post by AmariChill. But please. Give me a chance here to explain myself.

That is NOT a bad thing. I know, SuperBowl drought for over 25 years. I get it. But look at the Bills. The Browns. They’ve taken YEARS to get to the point they are now, and I’m sure it’s worth the wait. We’re not making the Superbowl next year, so don’t get your hopes up, and here’s why.

A.) We are a middle of the pack team, with middle of the pack players, and horrendous coaches
B.) Contracts and Cap Space
C.) very obvious, Jerry Jones
D.) a jam packed division (hear me out)

Let’s start off with A.)
There’s nothing wrong with being middle of the pack. It means with just a few improvements, you can be one of the best. There’s an issue with this, however. EVERYONE on this team is middle of the pack.

Dak is good. But he’s not a Mahomes, Rodgers, Brady, Herbert or even a Wilson or Watson. Don’t get me wrong, I want to sign him, it’s just that he’s not a huge player that will make those big, tight pass plays when you need them sometime. Plus, off the injury, how mobile will he be? His ability to run and hard to tackle stature will possibly be restricted after this injury. Only time will tell, but it is worrying.

As for the rest of our players, Zeke is going off a cliff, in fast. Sure, he may get back to him old self with the O-line back. But how realistic is that? He wasn’t that great, even earlier in the season before the injuries really hit. It’s concerning. And Pollard isn’t a premiere back. He’s average now, especially compared to the likes of Cook, Jones, Henry, Kamara, Singletary, McCaffery, amongst others. We’re stuck with him regardless, however, it is an issue going forward. Even his blocking has significantly plunged.

O-line is no longer what it used to be. Frederick is gone, Tyron can barely finish seasons, and Zack is great, but he may struggle without his “Great Wall of Dallas” counterparts. Looney is a below average center at best, Biadasz has a lot of work to do, Williams is what he is at this point (not great, but not terrible. Just meddling). And who knows about Collins at this point! Our O-line is in a significant downtrend, and while it is worrying, i don’t think we should waste much, if any, draft picks on the O-line considering how terrible our defense is. If anything, draft a new tackle considering how little we know on La’el’s condition or if Tyron can finish another season ever again. Our O-line this year was horrendous, and while it did gain traction and chemistry towards the end of the season, it was still TERRIBLE. O-line is definitely the biggest question mark along with Dak going into next season.

Defense: where do I even start? Gregory and D-Law are good. Aldon Smith is a question mark at this point, considering his quick downfall in the second half of the season (minus his fumble return). But, just how good are they? Are they top 10 in the league? Likely top 15 at best. Their play will likely improve with better DT’s, which is, in my opinion, our biggest issue. If you can’t stop the run, the opposing team can do whatever they want. Play action, they can pass all over you, and run all over you. We need a good NT. I don’t care if Hill and Gallimore are making strides. We need someone NOW. We don’t have time for development, and quite frankly, neither one of them are that great. No other team in the league talks about them, which speaks volumes about how good they really are. If they were really making big splash plays, opposing teams and fans would say something about said player like “wow, that kids a monster!” But we never hear such things. Not stopping the run leads to confusion not only by our DE’s, but by our LB’s and even DB’s. Our Linebackers SUCK. LVE can’t stay healthy and isn’t even that great, don’t get me started on Swipey Smith. Good god. We need two new linebackers STAT. DB wise, Brown, Chido, Woods, and Lewis all suck. They have splash plays every other 5 weeks in attempt to keep their jobs and appeal to Jerry, but don’t be fooled. Diggs and Wilson have very good moments every game and have potential, but that’s IT. We need 2 new CB’s minimum and 2 new safeties.

So far, we need at least 8-10 new players as is. That’s 2 drafts worth if you’re talking starter level players.

Finally, the coaching. I’m not a fan of the Quinn hire. Everyone will say “he’s the best option we had”. No. No he wasn’t. Just because he was the biggest name, doesn’t mean he was the best choice. Sean McVay and Matt Lafleur were smaller, assistant coaches. And now look at them. Why not get an assistant coach from a team that had a good looking defense somewhere? Why not try and grab the Washington D-line coach (or at least interview him since their season was done). Could’ve waited for the Rams D-line coach. There was no rush to hire Quinn so quickly. He’s not that hot of a commodity. Regardless, we are stuck with him so I have no choice to accept him. Nolan, was a bad hire, and I’m sure we can all agree. He made took defense from bad, to straight up putrid. He somehow made every player on this team worse. What a joke. Big Mike is a joke. He literally just stands there on the sidelines. Never showing emotion or getting in a players face, or taking over playcalling when Kellen/Nolan is doing bad (and he has the ability to do that. Even if Jerry fires him, he’s still obligated by contract to pay him so he’s not missing out on money). I’m not understanding his issue. He’s a terrible HC. Not coincidental that Green Bay got 10x better when he left. Jerry HAS TO STOP hiring retreads. That’s another plus of our soon failed upcoming season. McCarthy will likely be fired, or at least on a very hot seat, if we miss the playoffs again. Hopefully, we can get a winning coach after he is fired. I can’t see him winning a ring here at all. The only hire I liked was Fassell as he actually genuinely improved our Special Teams significantly. I really want to keep him. Couldn’t care less if you fire the rest of the coaches. We easily have the worst coaching staff in the division. Rivera looks great, Judge is making strides, and unless Philly hires Gase or Marvin Lewis, they’ll have better coaching too.

B.) Contracts and Cap Space.
We have one of the better cap space situations in the league, however, what will it be after Dak is signed? Especially with everything that has happened this season, who knows how much the cap will be affected. Another worrying issue: after Zeke, Jaylon, and multiple others on this team got paid, guess what happened? All of them QUIT. They are significantly worse. What if the same happens to Dak? The last thing we need is a quitter and terrible player at the QB position. Look at Goff and Wentz. Both of them. PAID. Look at them now. Terrible, dead weights on their team. Look at Watson. Now demanding a trade. What would happen if we paid Dak? Nothing good, looking at how the other contracts panned out.

C.) Jerry Jones.
This is a BIG issue. One that we obviously cannot get rid of, but maybe we can minimize. If we continue to fail, it’s possible (very, very small possibility) that he steps down from the GM position, much like the Broncos situation. Jerry’s ego won’t be able to take anymore. Realize how we’re getting less and less attention across the league? That’s because people are losing interest in the Cowboys. We’re so bad that it’s hard to even pick and joke about us anymore. They released an “anonymous source” via Rapaport about Dak’s rehab going well just to stay in the media. If we continue to fail at this rate, not only will Jerry be critiqued, and mocked, his ego and pockets will take a hit (as less people will buy tickets and merch). It’s possible he may step down if we continue to fail and make mistakes. In addition to that, our culture is absolutely horrendous. Remember good ole Beasley? He’s going to the AFCC. He said Buffalo has not only better facilities, but a winning culture, insinuating that Dallas does not have such a culture. Was he wrong? Appears not. In fact, almost every past player has alluded to the same thing. We have no winning culture. Our facilities are basically a resort/spa for the players and nothing more! The way this team performs every year, there’s no WAY they practice like other teams that constantly make the playoffs like the Packers, Seattle, Rams, Chiefs, Steelers, etc. Jerry has built a team that reeks of high entitlement to a point of high suckery. To a point where I’m not even sure we’ll return to greatness. This kind of stink doesn’t wash off a team, as you can see by the coaching. Jason Garrett not Mike McCarthy can change this team. Sure, both of them suck as coaches, however, what are the odds that this team continues to meddle no matter how many coaching and personnel changes they make? It’s obviously the culture. It HAS to change. They need someone with real authority in there. Someone that makes them work harder than hard. A Bill Belichick, Shanahan, or Harbaugh type. Instead, we have a whataburger lover and Mr. Blows Leads. What kind of culture do you think that will create? Remember that terrible stretch we played, starting with the cardinals? That was one of the worst stretches of football I’ve possibly seen in my life. The toxicity of this team was so strong, I’m sure the facility had to be evacuated. Remember when Bennett went off in the locker room in the 2019 season? Yeah, I do too. That’s how long this culture has festered. Every FA player that comes in here complains and notices a lack of trying and a sense of entitlement from this locker room. Remember the rumors from earlier in the season and we were all trying to figure out who the rat was? Remember when Woods said he doesn’t put in 100% effort every play? That’s just the tip of the iceberg! Sadly, I don’t even know if we can stop this culture.

D.) Finally, our division. I’m pretty sure we’re all aware of how badly our division stunk up the joint this season. However, anyone with eyes and ears can see and hear how good Washington can be. With the right QB, they will be DANGEROUS. Extremely dangerous. You saw just how hard it was to beat them with Kyle Allen, Alex Smith, and Taylor Heineke. Imagine how bad it will be with a top 10 QB? We have trouble. Giants with Saquon back will be hard to beat. They no longer have a pushover HC. Once they get a new O-line to properly protect Jones, who they will give another year of opportunity to, they will be dangerous. Their defense is on the rise, Saquon will be back, and Judge is doing pretty well for a makeshift team. They will be dangerous within a year. Eagles.... I’m not really worried about, however, never underestimate them. One thing about the Eagles is that they can rally anytime, especially in big games they are predicted to lose in. They know how to get hot at the right times. I know their QB situation is a mess, as is their secondary and coaching staff, however, if they hire a good HC, decide on Jalen Hurts as their QB, and fix that secondary, they will be dangerous. That’s a lot to fix of course, however, it’s way less than we have to fix. I’d give them two years til they’re dangerous again.

Comments? Thoughts?
Well done AC. Anyone that takes that much time to explain their opinions has my respect. I agree with most of what you’ve said. The biggest problem this team has is the cancerous culture created by the Jones cartel. That’s the fly in every Cowboys cocktail. They are the stink in the fridge.

The only way to overcome that is with great coaching and an overload of talent, neither of which we have at the moment. As a diehard Cowboys fan, I want this team to win every year. But as you outlined the road to being competitive looks long at the moment. Most of our fans way overrate the talent we have. Thankfully, rebuilding in the NFL can happen quicker than it used to. Hope is all we have.
