I'm not sure what should be done with the scoreboard, however, it sure would cause a stir if during the SuperBowl some punter hit the board and had to do a "do-over" and his team lost...
!! That would create controversy that just does not need to be there, IMO.
So what if it's built to NFL specs...raise the thing a few feet to insure that there is not anything that a losing team can lay blame on anything, because you damn sure know that there is the poetential for that to happen.
Lots of crybabies out there, and I can just invision a Commander punter hitting the thing and having to do a "do-over" and then lose the game...all the blame will then focus on the scoreboard for why the Commanders, and eagles, Giants, and any other team for that matter lost a game because of it.
The only alternative is to have David Buehler(sp) go up there and lift the thing during punts so the ball can't hit it...
