lol, he prolly doesn't understand that.

to the poster above:
Everage was about 20 pounds overweight for his workout here and couldn't run the 40 in less than 4.8.

Pick one. I am probably guilty of it somewhat on this subject. I still wish we'd give him another look though.

IRVING, Texas - Despite already addressing the position last month, the Cowboys apparently aren't satisfied at free safety.

The club worked out veteran Damien Robinson again on Thursday and is considering signing the former Seattle Seahawk before the start of training camp later this month.

Robinson, who spent most of last year on Seattle's injured list, has played eight seasons in the NFL, including four with the Bucs and two more with the Jets. Unlike several others who have rejoined head coach Bill Parcells this off-season, Robinson spent the 2001-02 seasons with the Jets, two years after Parcells left as head coach in New York.

But Robinson not only has ties to former teammates Keyshawn Johnson, Aaron Glenn and Jason Ferguson, he also grew up in Dallas, having starred at Hillcrest High School.

This is the second time the Cowboys have worked out Robinson, but still have yet to offer him a contract.

The Cowboys signed Izell Reese to a one-year deal back on June 3, likely giving the seventh-year veteran an opportunity to compete for the starting job with Lynn Scott and Keith Davis, and possibly rookie sixth-round pick Justin Beriault.

But Reese, who is scheduled to make just $655,000 in base salary, received a $25,000 signing bonus. And the bonus would be all the Cowboys would absorb on their salary cap if Reese is cut before the start of the season.

And it's likely Robinson's contract would be in same ballpark. He has 65 career starts, along with 13 interceptions, including a career-high six in 2000, his last year with the Bucs.

The Seahawks signed Robinson before the 2003 season and he started four games before losing his job to Ken Hamlin, a rookie second-round pick that year. Robinson finished the year as a backup and special teams player, and then missed all of last year after separating his shoulder in training camp. Seattle released Robinson on March 4, a move that saved the club nearly $1 million off the salary cap.

Ready To Sign?

While other teams have started signing their respective draft picks, the Cowboys typically wait until the last two weeks before the start of training camp.

So with the Cowboys leaving for Oxnard, Calif. on July 28, the team will start the process next week, trying to get all eight picks signed before the first practice on July 30.

For the first time since 1991, the Cowboys will have to sign two first-round draft picks in defensive ends Demarcus Ware (11th overall) and Marcus Spears (20th).

With those two first-round picks, the NFL allotted $4.915 million for the Cowboys' rookie pool, the sixth-highest amount among the 32 teams.

The Cowboys currently have 85 players on their roster, likely having to cut two players before all of the draft picks are signed.

It wouldn't suprise me if he came in the first time and was just under whatevr median the Boys set in terms of 40 time and conditioning. They told him to work out on his own and come back in later for a try out and he did. He hasn't been signed so prolly won't be.

He's a good guy I wish him the very best.
