Clark, Overshown, and Liufau could be solid. I wish they had a stud at DE so Parsons could play LB. It seems to me they still need another DE and DT, but if the LBs all turn out to be solid it’ll be exciting to have what seems like 3 new LBs. Kendrick’s is in there too, but I don’t know if he’s big enough maybe they want him as a nickel LB to cover.
Kendrick's is the starting Mike LB, the guy with the green dot. Liufau is his apprentice for possibly next year at the mike and can play on the sam side this year. Overshown appears to be one of the nickel LBs. He and Damone are will LBs.

None of that set right now that's what camp is actually for none of the starters are returning outside of Michael Parsons lot of these dudes wide open don't leave out Damien Wilson and Harvey as well I mean people just count them out but they look solid in what we seen little of them in training camp right now so let's see what these preseason game show no need to force guys onto the field because of their names or why they were brought here the best rotation should be picked obviously..... We have a far better linebacker room so we can choose the best three and then we could like find places for the others...

That is what they have them playing in practice. You might try listening to the guys that are there some time. Parsons and Wilson were not mentioned by the previous post so I didn't mention them either. Wilson is most likely the sam as well. Parsons is a little different because they move him all over to try and confuse the offense and their blocking schemes.

It doesn't matter what they're saying they're saying a lot of things then when we see it in real games live we don't see the same things.. There's no way overshown coming back off injury has done enough to earn a starting spot I mean who in the right mind would think that he ain't gonna get it handed to him the man's just got released on PUP and somehow you think he's already in line to be the starter like penciled in like right now? Be careful the things that you hear from coaches and other things in training camp coming out of practices because that's a good way for them to make their opponents think that that's what's going on but it will be settled the rest of training camp and preseason games on how that's gonna shake out because Harvey's been flashing a lot in my eyes when I'm watching all the little clips from some of the content creators like on Facebook and I'm watching these plays and harveys seems to be coming in a lot so is Wilson's a veteran you can't count them out... Mike Zimmer will pick the best three guys and then find a mix for the rest but I'm just happy we have a lot bigger group to choose from this year's mix with veterans and young players...

Overshown has been playing nickel linebacker. I never said he was starting. Clark right now is the starting will but Overshown is also a will.

But you proposed the starting lineup and I'm telling you it's not set in no way shape or form to fans want it to be sad we want this open competition I don't care if it's three names we never heard of or never expected I want the best guys for Zimmer defense on the field playing linebacker and you're forgetting that Parsons is gonna be moved over there more often than he was before not as much as people probably think he's still being paid like a premier outside linebacker slash pass rusher so he will be at defensive end a lot.... I'm just saying let's hold back name that you think are gonna be starters because I just wanted to be a surprise I wanna see the three best guys I I don't want anybody getting handed a job.....

Already one of the best vocalists on the roster (no, seriously), the "Tennessee Whiskey" cover artist has attached himself to veteran linebackers Eric Kendricks and Damone Clark, absorbing all of their advice while also burying himself in Mike Zimmer's playbook to not only learn his assignments but, much like his days at Notre Dame, to also learn the assignments of his other 10 defensive teammates on any given play...

Liufau's elite football IQ is one of his main attractions and it's what caused Zimmer and head coach Mike McCarthy to pound the table, so to speak, to get him on the roster during the draft and, seeing as it's helped get him this far, it will likely also help in propelling him much further.

Love the LBer depth this year. Competition brings the best out in everyone.

With a strong set of defensive ends and a top level secondary, these linebackers are very important now.

The linebackers connect the defensive line with the secondary. They also protect center of the field on defense. They will now give the Dallas offense advantages.

Zimmer on the other hand relies on strength, execution and deceit. He doesn’t prioritize getting into the backfield as much as he wants players to follow their assignments and be where they need to be. They are more on the defensive. His groups won’t be as splashy, but they also won’t be so susceptible to big plays. If they do their job, they’ll get off the field.

A Quinn vs. Zimmer comparison is described best by three charts showing how each of them fared over their last three seasons as defensive coordinators.
These charts included their league rankings in takeaways, yards allowed, and points given up.

Offenses do not move the ball readily on Zimmer’s guys (games changers aren't as dangerous in a game)

*However, when smart offensive teams, like say, the Shanahan tree, go up against him, (Quinn), they can be punished for their over-aggression. This is where a disciplined group is more effective, and that’s what the Cowboys hope they get from Zimmer. It’s early, be we are already seeing some evidence of the Zimmer transition.

The Cowboys are trading in quickness for strength. Quickness is great, but they want to fortify a wall. They spent a second-round draft pick on Marshawn Kneeland, a muscular run-stopping defensive lineman. He’s not your bendy, around-the-edge guy. He’s your power, nothing’s-getting-by-me guy. And when Sam Williams suffered a season-ending knee injury, the Cowboys signed another non-bendy power guy in Al-Quadin Muhammed. It’s pretty clear they have a type for their defensive ends.

With Zimmer in charge, Smith will return to a bigger, block-absorbing role in the Cowboys' defense. Again, it’s about maintaining that wall. Smith had some good practices last week and while it’s not showing up in any overpowering one-on-one drills, his effectiveness has been on full display in team snaps. Smith is taking on blocks and allowing his linebackers to get clean shots at ball carriers. Suddenly Damone Clark and DeMarvion Overshown look like stud linebackers because they don’t have to fight through blocks as much. Don’t look now, but Smith is actually doing his job well.
