I really don't think he needed to issue one since his infraction was well before he signed with Dallas.

If anything, the decision makers should apologize for signing a player they knew would be subject to suspension.

It is nice and cute that Moore felt he had to do this, but it was unnecessary.

I actually have another take on the potential impetus behind his statement. Isn't it plausible that the Cowboys FO itself asked him to make a statement? Considering how many instances we've had of Cowboy players' "mistakes" ending up in the media this offseason, it's plausible that the FO wanted to make sure the message got out the this punishment was over an incident PRIOR to his joining the team...perhaps to try and deflect blowback from "yet another incident" that influences public opinion. I have nothing to base this POV on...just a hunch.

Good angle,but I kinda thought,,,

I chatted him up a few days ago (before suspension announced) and he seemed really glad to be "home". He said New York City was some culture shock. Hopefully having his family around will be motivational.
This.
And he's really trying in an honest effort to integrate himself into the Fanbases hearts and minds,,,personally I'm gonna keep seeing that foot stomp on #9 while he was already down,,, unless he pulls some highlight reel plays early on.( that ,,,could erase that memory pretty quick)

Just my two cents but I think there are times when those who make mistakes are seriously penitent for their errors and feel obliged to acknowledge it publicly to those who were innocently affected by the backlash that followed. Of course, it also obliges him to adjust his actions to go straight in the future. That's always a necessary part of the deal to truly make amends.
