You really think someone is going to give Spencer a multi-year deal after a micro fracture? His value is very little right now until he proves other wise.
Yes, I really do. I think someone is going to try to come in and buy low based on Spencer's production our last year in the 34. I wouldn't even be shocked if its the Cowboys who do it. You know Jerry loves to buy low on injured players.
I realize the draft is going to change, and people are going to move up and down boards, this is just what the experts predict their value is RIGHT now.
I understand that, I am politely disagreeing with them, however. That's what this place is for, is it not?
Did I ever say Mosley would be a backup? He would probably be the 2nd best linebacker on the team from day 1. All I said is it would push Carter, plus its a business decision since Carter is a free agent next year anyway. Build for the future. He would have a starting spot somewhere on this team from day 1.
Actually, that's exactly what you said -- "1st RD: CJ Mosley LB - A true play maker for this d. An explosive linebacker that can play the weak side in this scheme, or backup Sean Lee at middle linebacker." And I wouldn't be so sure he would start day 1. He is an undersized guy. He could take some time to bulk up and learn the scheme, just like our guys have.
Oh, and about the Demarcus Ware thing. How can you explain what happened to Doug Free last year? I realize you can't technically force people to take pay cuts. You give them an ultimatum. Either take a pay cut, or hit the road. He has NO leverage, and he wants to stay in Dallas desperately from everything I've read and everyone that knows him.
Are you seriously comparing Demarcus Ware, a lock first ballot hall of famer to a guy who has almost been cut several times? The difference is, Demarcus Ware is coming of back to back injury riddled seasons. The guy isn't getting any younger, but plenty of pass rushers have remained productive late into their careers. He has plenty of leverage-he is the only pass rusher on this team with any proven success. His ability to come back from injury and have a few more good season is just as likely as that of a rookie to come in who hasn't played a down in the NFL and be successful.
