Julius Brents is my pet cat. He is the prototypical CB Quinn loves. 6’3” frame, press corner, plays well in zone, but can be physical with big guys (Johnston from TCU). Like Izzy, can play corner and Safety.
One of my favorite corners in the class. Probably would have to take him at 58 though.

Rush is my favorite corner. Wish he stayed more of a secret because he seemed like he could have been another day 3 Daron Bland level find.

Any chance the Cowboys take Forbes at 26. The more I watch him the more I love him.:thumbup:6 picks returned for touchdowns. This guy is a skinny Sauce Gardener with better ball skills.

Forbes actually reminds me of Witherspoon, who is my favorite player in this whole draft. Both Forbes and Spoon play the CB position very naturally. Their instincts are great and both of them just harass the hell out of receivers.

Sauce is a pretty good comparison because both are such natural corners.

Forbes really plays the ball well and is a pure ball hawk. It is all about the ball at CB/WR and he is always finding it and keeping it away from the receiver one way or another. He is just a really good football player.

So many corners are just athletes playing the position and they’re learning what to do. Some may turn into good players and some may not… but Forbes and Spoon are really good players, right now. They both have great eyes, anticipation and athleticism, and they compete like hell for the ball. They both will stick their nose into contact and are just really a pain in the *** for offenses.

Forbes watching Gilmore for a year while he gets his feet wet and just putting on weight is something that I really want to see. Forbes has everything you want in a corner… he just needs to get a little stronger.

He is my #4 corner and I heard he is definitely going to be a 1st rd pick. Question is will he get to 26? In my opinion, he is a legitimate, future #1 corner. Taking him will also give the Cowboys some leverage in the Diggs extension talks coming up.

His lack of weight is the only thing that is holding him back, you would think a year in an NFL conditioning program they can get him to add more muscle to his frame. Has all the elite traits that Quinn covets. Having elite ball skills is very rare and cannot be taught or developed. Imagine QB's needing to throw against Diggs, him and Bland?

I know there is all this talk about Avila, but I can’t imagine this team would take an interior lineman in front of a CB that they really like. Forbes would have a luxury of being developed especially physically where he needs quite a bit of work. But the talent has never been a question.

I feel like Gonzales is a little over rated. Physically, he’s really good… just as smooth as silk. He’s a great athlete. But when I watch him I see too many times where he is with the WR at the catch point and the receiver still catches the pass.

He looks great dropping in a zone and he’s usually in the right place, but then he just watches the WR catch the ball before he seems to react.

He’s exactly what you want in a corner with his physical ability… but when it comes to executing what he’s supposed to do to keep the WR from catching the ball, he just isn’t as good as he should be.

I still have him rated highly and I think he’s a real good prospect but he is still a little bit of a projection for me. I now have Gonzales rated below Porter at 3rd. Witherspoon is a way better player than Gonzales and I’d take Porter before Gonzales too.

Talked with him at the combine, our secondary coaches at his pro day, national 30 visitor, suggests that he is a top target by the team.

Exactly. Hell, Forbes had already gained 4 pounds from the combine at his pro day. He weighed 170 there.

With Gilmore in Dallas, Forbes would be learning the mental part of the game from one of the greats. And I still think that Forbes would play a decent amount of snaps situationally. He would add football IQ while adding size and strength.

It just makes so much sense to take him at 26 if he’s there.

Dane with the lack of love for Cam Smith.

Dudes a stud that isn’t getting talked about enough.
I have heard there are off the field character concerns, this could be the reason why he isn't too high on his board.

I like Smith a good bit. Really, the main issue that I see with him is that he can get really grabby at the top of the route… but that can be coached out of him.

I think he’s a really nice prospect.

Yep, Cam Smith. The 6-foot, 190-pound Smith has quality size for the next level. Team sources, however, said character concerns are hurting Smith with teams, which have identified issues such as work ethic, makeup, and off-the-field habits.

Look what happened last year when Brown went down, both Joseph/Wright really struggled in a starting role. I am expecting at least one of them off the roster after camp. We now are relying on a 33 yr old corner to stay healthy or we will be back to the same place. Also, with both Diggs/Gilmore fa's after the season, makes perfect sense to find their starter now and get his feet wet before he is expected to start full time in 2024.

That a South Carolina trait, we heard the same things about Horn coming out. Wonder if Rush has the same issue.
