the skins added deion (he was not great, but not bad that year) bruce smith (same) and a forgettable mark carrier. ray rhodes took them from 29th in the league out of 31 teams to 4th.

like i said, nolan was not good in DC.

What did the Skins defense finish last season rated?

Can Gregg Williams not coach defense?

Nolan is a 3-4 guy and the Skins have not has any 3-4 talent.

If Snyder would hire a real football man to run the draft and then stop giving away draft picks the defense might actually be good one day.

Nolan should have sent Snyder back a note saying, "Thanks, I thought you only gave away draft picks"

Jerry Jones is a mess at times, Dan Snyder is a complete tool, true story.

There is a story of Danny trying a field goal out there somewhere but I can not find it.

If someone else can find it please post it.

I think it was during either Norv or Marty's time, maybe spurriers time but I don't think so.

I also believe it was during training camp.

Don't forget this story, about Snyder pulling a similar stunt/threat on Laverneus Coles to get him to accept a trade:

[Coles] described every week of last season as a "miserable" experience and added that the most important lesson he learned while in Washington was "trust nobody."

If you want to know how badly Coles and the Commanders needed a divorce, consider this: Commanders owner Daniel Snyder threatened Coles when the receiver's refusal to accept the trade without a contract extension thwarted the deal last month. "He said that if I stayed in Washington, he would turn me into another Terry Glenn," Coles said. (Glenn, now with the Cowboys, missed most of the 2001 season with New England as his public feud with head coach Bill Belichick resulted in various fines, suspensions and ultimately Glenn's benching). "He said he would send a flat-screen television to my home because I'd be better off watching the games there. That was his way of saying I'd be sitting for the next couple years until they cut me."

This was from Sports Illustrated

I remember that. I'll have to find it. I do remember he made Vinny Cerrato hold for him.

The best Snyder story I ever heard was from a contractor who did some work at his home. How the man couldn't address "Mr. Snyder" directly but had to talk to him through an assistant even though Snyder was in the same room and how his employees had to avert there eyes whenever he walked by.

Okay, we need to think of a way to incorporate this into the games Vs. the Commanders. No ice cream but vanilla on days we play the Skins. Every time the Offense has a good play for us against their defense fans hold up signs that say stuff about vanilla.

It would be great if it caught on and the networks told the story.

Would we ever have heard of Daniel Snyder if he had run his Snyder Communications the way he has run the Commanders? He is no longer the NFL's new boy on the block. He's in his fifth year now, and you'd think he'd have learned something about the way a football team functions, but he still has absolutely no understanding of this unique business. He dug a tunnel under his first two coaches by going directly to the players without telling the staff. He has overruled his current coach, Steve Spurrier, on personnel decisions, making them a committee choice. It's like he hasn't learned what the game is all about. At times his decisions have been has been flat-out ridiculous.

Shortly after Snyder fired Charley Casserly as his GM and replaced him with Vinny Cerrato, Casserly received a call from one of his old Commanders scouts.

"You're not gonna believe this," the scout said. "The owner decided that kicking field goals isn't so tough, so after practice he had Cerrato hold for him, and he tried kicking some -- in his street clothes and shoes." He quit after a few grass-skimmers.

Casserly told the story to his wife, Beverley.

"You see that?" she said. "If you were still there that would have been you holding for those kicks."

That is a ridiculous story... but just think, how awesome would it be to own an NFL team? Get to screw around like this, have NFL superstars kiss your butt, and make grown men hold field goals for you. :D

I'd rather act like Jerry and be buddy buddy with entertainers, politicians and rich Arabs, lol.

Bossing around Vinny Cerrato would do nothing for me.

Then again I grew past 5'5" as well, something Danny knows nothing about.

If I owned the Cowboys there'd be a bring a cheerleader to the offense day for sure... and I wouldn't let Troy steal away my hot secretary, rofl.

Yes that is it.

I remember when I first read that story I had an image of lucy holding, and then pulling the ball away, and charlie brown missing the ball while doing a backflip. :laugh1:
