There are few things in literature that can amuse, enlighten or anger a reader as much as satire. The ability to recognize literary satire may make the difference between whether a person laughs at a book like “Huckleberry Finn” or starts a campaign to have it banned from schools. That is why learning how to recognize literary satire is something that even non-English majors should learn how to do.

You don't even understand what satire is. its supposed to be something that portrays something you disapprove of in a funny (mostly sarcastic) light. thus the reference to Huck Finn which was oh so obviously a satire of southern life specifically slavery. that was the whole point of the character Jim.
But even had you been correct there is nothing to say that satire cannot be an instrument of hype.
Oh and how about the fumble by wonderboy.....
