So if he won't return kicks, and won't be able to cover kicks, and won't see the field as a WR... why exactly do you want him on the team?

Cheering for the "underdog" is one thing, but if he's useless to the team I don't want him on it.

And if he DOES make the team he WILL be returning kicks (when he's active).
The way i see it? This fumble to me he just got hit right for the ball to come out. If he would have held it tighter or what ever the ball still would have came out. The guy that tackled him did a great job at it. So this fumble to me doesn't really say much i think he just got tackled right. Any other player would of fumbled it to the way he got tackled. Just my opinion!!!!! I'm not panicking yet

Amendola had a good return around the right side before that fumble. It wasn't his first return. His first one set us up with good FP for the 1st team offense to get the TD.

It still amazes me that people on this board come on here and declare a WR a waste of space because of one fumble on a punt return in a pre-season game. That could be his last fumble on a PR in his life... you have no idea what's going to happen from here. Not to mention the fact that he's NOT going to be returning punts if he makes this team. Not unless Pacman, Crayton and Newman ALL go out.

There should be no lines to be drawn among true Cowboys fans. His playing well would help this team. Some of you get so invested in being right, or going against the crowd that your rooting for this kid to fail, which hurts your team. Wake up.

I am no way sold on the little fella but I am not against him. His fumble could have been a case of game day jitters, it happens. If he is going to make the roster and become the next Wes Welker he has to do better then what he did last night.

What is clear is that we couldn't get a fair evaluation because of the inability of the offensive line to block; our backup oline stinks.

Tony Romo muffs the hold for a field goal. Analysis? He's not going to be a good quarterback and being undrafted must have something to do with it.

Danny Amendola fumbles after getting hit returning a punt. Analysis? He's not going to be a good wide receiver and being undrafted must have something to do with it.

Okey-dokey then.

Does anyone here realize that Amendola is not going to ever return punts for us?

Let's see. Adam Jones, Terence Newman, Patrick Crayton (he can at least catch) vs. a guy who is looking to make the roster as a #6 WR.

Amendola will be judged exclusively on pass catching.

No he won't. If little Danny can'contribute on special teams he won't make the roster.

pleas find any post by me where i say i want Amendola on this team

There's a big difference in cheering for a person and cheering against someone like so many people here seem to do when it comes to this guy. All i'm saying is i want to see what this WR can do as a WR...

Good post.
I would like to see him with the 1st team. You cant judge him by Brad and Bart throwing at his feet.

I think the "kick little Danny trying to make and help this cowboy team crowd" is downright hilarious.

He is going to be a project. Will we see that through... or even try?

I agree the anti-crowd is hilarious. And I understand "wanting" to see what Amendola could do with the first team. But I'd guess there's no way an undrafted player -- whom you admittedly call a "project" -- gets first-team reps in his first preseason, unless there's a rash of injuries to the other wideouts. We might be lucky to see Felix working with the first team, much less Amendola, this preseason. That's no slight on Amendola. I just don't think you'll see a guy battling for the final wideout spot getting early reps. But I've been wrong before. :)

I hear ya and agree for the most part.... BUT... by preseason game 3 and/or 4... I would think that Garrett would break conventional process and get Amendola a few plays with first team.

I think even Garrett wants to know if this kid has got project potential. Forget about real time playing potential.

Its preseason... a few WR plays for Amendola is smart.
