Could argue that Giants won their last two super bowls based on spending their money on pass rushers and more than they needed.
We retained Wilson (and LVE), so I'm OK with keeping Fowler now at the right price. Just didn't feel like he was a priority. Now, there are other players I'd rather sign, but the Cowboys don't offer much to outside FAs.

I remember looking forward to the day Stephen took over for Jerry.

Now I wish we could go back to Jerry having full reign. We might not be any better, but at least we'd try.
I agree. Stephen doesn't even pretend to care.

Nobody focuses harder on re-signing the 4th Edge option (at best?) on the first day of free agency than the Cowboys
focusing?? their staff of 100 plus employees are working on 20-30 options on all payers and positions round the clock this time of year, the Star is on fire right now just craziness .. he was one of many ..get over it Fowler was better then expected last year put up Gregory starter numbers in limited snaps. he was nearly as good as Armstrong. maybe that passed you by with the other FACT, that you do not have clue.. jeez. get a clue when you find it, let us know, we can send you a cookie.

This guy is a JAG. No idea why they are so pre-occupied with bringing him back.
actually, hes far from that..you are JAG of fan for saying that

Less than 30% of defensive snaps and had 7 TFL, 2 FF, & 6 sacks with 27 tackles.

Fowler was better than expected last year put up Gregory starter numbers in limited snaps. he was nearly as good as Armstrong. maybe that passed you by with the other FACT, that you do not have clue.. jeez. get a clue when you find it, let us know, we can send you a cookie.

Just say you don't know what you're talking about.

So what's it like working in the front office for the Dallas Cowboys? Must drive you nuts listening to upper management calling Fowler at any chance they get. Will McClay should save some face and spend some time in your cubicle picking your brain on who's good and who's a jag.

Take off the fanboy glasses. He's so good he can only play 30% of the time.

Don't understand the need. Last year, it made sense to add him, but now we have Williams to couple with Lawrence, Armstrong and Parsons. Seems like the money could be better spent elsewhere, like corner and linebacker. Would much prefer we retain Wilson over re-signing Fowler, but Wilson is going to get a good payday while Fowler can be had for another one-year deal.

True but if you can get another passer on the cheap, do it.

I think that’s what is confusing to a lot of posters here.

It’s not that the negative post dislike Fowler (huge fan of his. Check when we signed him I was one of the few loving the signing). But these are moves you typically can make prior to the free agent frenzy.

Can’t get a deal done? It happens. But it’s like Jerry and Stephen slap the fans in the face sending this out. Commanders beef up their line? Giants filling needs. 49ers making a huge splash. You didn’t see their media “working hard on a deal!!!”.

It’s what frustrates the fans. That they are praying for some change and a bit of hope. But they dangle Dante Fowler in your face.

Granted, it’s day one. But we all know this team is likely not doing anything.

It’s the same how they continually dangle the “contacted and interested in Bobby Wagner”

This isn’t an attack on you as you are one of my favorite posters on the board. Just my two cents why people act crazy around this time
I’m confused about the perspective. A reporter tweeted that the team was negotiating. The team didn’t “send it out” and I certainly don’t see how this tweet amounts to a “slap in the face”.

Just two days ago the board was really happy with Gilmore, Wilson and LVE. Yet, we don’t sign anyone yesterday and people are up in arms.

Media absolutely has a mandate to generate content. It’s a really competitive industry and they often “dangle” things because they need to tweet *something* every day.

I don't think the Cowboys would pursue Fowler if Quinn did not want him. Yes Dallas has Lawrence, Armstrong, Sam Willaims and as far as Parson I do not think Quinn has any intentions of lining him up outside the entire game. Fully expect him to continue moving him around.

Playing limited snaps he had 6 sacks, 2 forced fumbles and 2 passes defended. But yeah, he “stole” his paycheck. SMH.
He had some nice games but he was mostly invisible out there especially down the stretch. I can't remember one impactful play he made in the playoffs.

Actually, there's something to cover every day. It's not so much about what you're saying as it is about how they do it that matters. That's why I look for substance over form or maybe even style. I would rather read Walterfootball than most other draft sites. Just because they're more accurate with their information.

Bringing him back on a one year deal can't hurt, especially with D-Law's history of injuries and Sam Williams' inexperience. Fowler had six sacks and played non-starter snaps last year. They just better not overpay.
