Let's say the press conference was an elaborate smokescreen and neither Ramsey nor Elliott are the top targets. Who is your dark horse prediction for #4?

I'm going to say either Buckner or Lynch.

Buckner.

Though it seems the team was hot and heavy over him early in the process, and haven't heard much about him since.

Maybe they met with the coaches and were informed he didn't really fit our defense?

Here's a super dark horse: we trade down out of the top 12 and draft Fuller after all of our targets have been eliminated

What's it going to be then, eh?

I don't think Lynch is anywhere close to being a darkhorse.

This team is not emotionally ready to submit to taking a QB in the first round.

In a way, I am glad we were spared the anguish of having the two top QBs available for us to pass over.

That was the biggest favor out of the trade ups for Dallas. It took the pressure off of Jones having to explain how a CB, RB or non-elite DL was worth more than a potential franchise QB.

Buckner is a remote possibility.

Right now it is a four horse race, IMO.

The guesswork is very minimal.

It is either Ramsey, Elliott, Bosa or if we have decided to get cute for "upside", Buckner.

In agreement on both. I think those two as well as Bosa are very much contenders for #4

Im not sure what the bolded part even means. Can you elaborate your thought process here. How does a team become emotionally ready? What makes a team not emotionally ready to draft a QB in the first round?

Not bashing but I read that and shook my head and re read it still had no idea what this means. I dont think my reading, nor comprehension skills have diminished that much. I know you by your posts and your an intelligent poster, but I cant make heads nor tales of that.

Im a Buckner fan. I see alot of Muhammad Wilkerson in him.

He is leading contender IMO because I like to project my personal favorite players into the Cowboys actual.

Its how winning ftanchised as built

Buckner is a decent wild card if you assume the main possibilities are Ramsey, Elliott and Bosa.
Lynch is not going to Dallas at 4. Flat out no way.

They made up their mind to trade down the moment they heard the Eagles had moved up to the #2 spot.

Bank on it. They wanted a quarterback and Lynch is not worth the #4 overall pick.

Been saying Buckner for a month. Can see it right now, and the CZ crashes! Although he is intriguing, but had we not gotten Irving last year I would be all over him. I could see Rod thinking he reminds him of Hatcher actually!

Definitely Buckner. In fact, I see it coming right now.

It wouldn't surprise me one bit. What makes zero sense is to hold a press conference and basically telegraph your draft intent when you know the team above you is actively shopping their pick to someone who wants to jump ahead of you. They aren't THAT stupid. Something is up.
