Some players can emerge and excel. Lotta QB's seem to do better on a different team.

I liken this to 2016 Dak team. Pretty good team and Dak handled it fairly good. Darnold should get the same kinda credit.

Oh I agree 100%.....but using a championship game QB to hate on Dak is silly. 28 QBs sitting at home, many considered top. If you notice, the final four teams all have a couple of things in common........they all avoided major injuries and are led by solid coaching on both sides of the ball. In other words, we are on a different level of football here.......

This is emphatically false. One game does not make a QB whether it is Sam Darnold or Dak Prescott.

Comparing Stats, Darmonld had a completion % of 67.7. Dak was 67.3.

Darnold threw for 4048 yards. Dak threw for 4552.

Darnold threw 25 TDs. Dak threw 30.

Darnold threw 14 INTs. Dak 10.

Of course stats don;t tell the whole story but I don't see where Darnold is distinctly better than DAk, or better than Dak at all. He is a journeyman who happened to have a good season for a team with a dominating defense.

I remember a game a few years back when Darnold was struggling on the Jets. We came to town and Darnold annihilated us and was clearly the best QB on the field. Then he went to Carolina .....injuries..... but he's a top 5 QB now.

The numbers make it a much closer argument than people probably realize. Darnold is more of a gunslinger and will turn the ball over more often, but hes also almost a full yard per attempt more than Dak (8.5 vs 7.6).

With all else being the same I completely I agree that i would rather have Dak, but I also think the evidence is pretty clear that QB play around the league is closer than we think and paying guys top salaries when guys like Darnold are available at nearly half the price is a bad way to construct a roster.

Ah so it's a "team game" when it fits the narrative for Dak; I see. Then do not bring up Dak's amazing stats and career, because it's a team game and it shouldn't matter.

Of course it's a team game. But this team has always been built on the offense under Dak and even Romo. Now under Dak the defense has kept opponents under 24 points in 3 of the last 4 playoff games but only 1 win. Losing to san fran 17 to 23 and then 12 to 19 back to back years, the green bay loss doesn't look to bad on paper losing 32 to 48 but 16 points came in the 4th when greenbay was trying to run out the clock in a soft defense. Fans get tired of hearing how good this offense is only for the offense to shrink in the post season. No doubt they look amazing in regular season. It's never only 1 persons fault, but he is the focal point being the leader of the offense and paid the most money.
